    I literally just said "oh my god" when Fukudome uncorked that throw. This is the first I've seen of him.

    Honestly, Theriot sucks, and Cedeno likely does too. I think Cedeno, given 600 PAs or whatever, would probably hit better than Theriot, but not so much better that it's worth getting worked up over. Either way, I just don't like terrible arguments (age doesn't matter!) being used to prop up either side. One thing that I have thought of, though, is this. What would hurt the offense less, having Theriot's .325 obp in the leadoff spot (since Lou will hit him there), or having Cedeno's .300 obp in the 8 spot? I think that's a legit question.

    i'm thinking that ronny will be hard-pressed to hit 40 doubles and 35 homers if allowed to play all year. call it a hunch. Yeah, I didn't deserve that. I said "8 spot" as in, if it means it knocks Theriot out of the leadoff spot and puts a guy who is a sure bet to slug better in the 8 spot, is it a good thing for the Cubs? Where in that post did I say that Cedeno would duplicate Soriano's numbers? Just snark for the sake of snark there. Don't worry about Truffle. He bought a baseball prospectus book, but he still can't shake his old ways.

    Yea, he might very well be the best right fielder in baseball right now. Uh, disagree? Player A: .295/.353/.892 Player B: .324/.403/.950 Guess which one is Hart Hint: It's the one with worse stats. Magglio had a higher OPS than Vlad or Hart last year, and if I'm picking a team right now, I take Hart over either of them.

    Ceda's weight and size has been much mentioned. A recurring question has been whether he has a weight problem, which could harm his career. (Weight problems tend to increase, not decrease, after age 21!) What was your impression? Is he huge.... as in having a huge frame, a dominant build, and is reasonably fit? Is his weight appropriate for his frame? In other words, "huge" as in very desirably huge? Or is he "huge" as in huger than he should be, as in fat, as in undesirably huge? I saw Mr Ceda during camp and "weight is an issue". He looks like Alf, minus the ump-battering belly.

    80 runs scored in 586 PAs is terrible. It's not a matter of it being his first season or anything like that, it's a matter of him not being good at baseball. Just because he physically can't hit for any power whatsoever doesn't mean that it's wrong to criticize him for not being able to. If you get hired to be an effective worker, and you're just not able to be effective, you deserve to get bounced, no matter what your job is.

    Whatever will we do without Murton's .800 OPS in our lineup? He's nice, cheap, filler, for anything someone gets hurt. Where the hell is he supposed to play in this lineup? I'd rather stick him in Iowa n case Fukudome or Soriano go down again and we need a replacement for a month than trade him just because he's not going to start.
