    there was some board back in the day, actually it might still exist, where someone brought up josh beckett's HAMMER curve in every thread. he always capitalized HAMMER. it was the worst thing in the world

    At best what could we expect out of Hoff? He hits well and posts an .800 OPS? Is that extra .050 of OPS worth benching Lee, who, for all his faults, could just as easily put up an .800+ from this point on as he could a .730? I don't think so.

    gary matthews has a .637 OPS but he's really good in the clubhouse i hear and everyone really likes his nickname so the 9.5 mil is a bargain imo

    it's because as long as you don't have a pair of sub .300 OBP guys at the top of the lineup, it doesn't matter where players hit. if your lineup consistently gets on base, players will score and knock people in regardless of where they bat.

    Exactly. I'll never understand when teams like the pirates are stingy on the draft and then trade and pay for the corpse of matt morris. That was the difference between BJ Upton or Bryan Bullington.

    Ben Johnson could, he cheated but he was still damn fast. The 100 might still be my favorite event. bolt's 9.72 wr is faster than ben's drug-assisted 9.79. bolt doesn't even look like he's going fast, his strides are so long. it's going to take a miracle for gay to beat him. hopefully, tyson is malingering. gay doesn't have a chance. i dont know anything about sprinting, but bolt looked like a terminator or something. Did they show the 100m heats on NBC's main coverage tonight? Yeah, I dont remember if it was before or after Phelps, but it's on there.
