  1. question no. 2 are super bowl tickets more expensive than regular tickets pm me if u know
  2. the lohse-wellemeyer-pineiro trio isnt exactly fear inspiring
  3. .270/.403/.545 Thanks Jersey...Not bad. So he's making something good happen 40% of the time, is this a big difference over the average of all players in this situation? do you really think that the league averages anywhere near to a .948 ops in any situation? Why not? I'd love have seen your face after you read that. I was just talking about the 40% IMB, not the .948 ops. i really, really doubt that the entire league averages a .400 OBP in any situation, too. go look if you think otherwise.

  5. I DONT BELIEVE WHAT I JUST SAW I DONT BELIEVE WHAT I JUST SAW I DONT BELIEVE WHAT I JUST SAW
  6. i'm not going any route. i dont care about wins and i dont care about era, i care about outs and minimizing damage when you dont get them. i dont like whip that much because doubles, tripes and homers (which he doesnt give up) count the same as a single and a walk, when they're clearly not. he gets away with his high whip because no one is making solid contact off of him. can he keep it up? i dont see why not, russ ortiz did for 650 innings in a row, and daisuke is a hell of a lot better than he was.
  7. from 2001-2003 he never had an era above 3.82 he was never a great pitcher but he threw 650 innings with an era at like 3.50, smoke and mirrors or whatever, but he got outs. saying daisuke is average because he's not the "best pitcher in the league like all the hype" is pretty dumb. you can't judge a player but what ken rosenthal says in his offseason scouting reports daisuke's success this year is easy to see, he's got an average whip but no one is getting extra bases on him. it's easy to keep your era down when the ball never leaves the park and everyone gets one base at a time.
  8. i mean, if a .643opsa doesn't scream RUSS ORTIZ at you, i dont know what does.
  9. he walks a lot of batters but he doesn't give up a lot of hits and the hits he does give up don't go for extra bases. He's got an ops against of .643, what a scrub.
  10. Daisuke's era+ 153 russ ortiz' best era+ 122
  11. that damn bobby brownlie, where's the outlaw curve you goddang liar
  12. I'm glad for the things Kosuke has done for us this year and I have high hopes for him in the rest of his contract, but he definitely needs some time off. New team, new city, new country, new league, more travel. I'm sure he's gassed. It might not make much of a difference production-wise going Dero/Fontenot over Dero/Kosuke against right handers, but anything to get him a breather is probably a good thing.
  13. Samson is fine defensively. Think David Eckstein. not a ringing endorsement, defensively
  14. anyone who has ever worn an affliction shirt is basically a child molester imo im not saying that theyve all molested children but thats how i treat them
  15. look, i love geo and all, but he's rookie and sometimes his mascara runs so what im thinking is we sign edmonds to be a lefty bat off the bench AND a personal stylist. like greg maddux mentored our young pitchers, edmonds can mentor soto
  16. I wonder if the Nats have a game thread going somewhere, with people posting excerpts from here and Cards Talk, all talking about how terribly crappy their baseball team is. if there's a nats board somewhere, i guarantee that this thread is longer than any on their website "nats gamethread august something vs brewers (i think) see you next year"
  17. I CANT BELIEVE I MISSED IT john tesh i love you
  18. it'd be nice to stretch this lead out to 8 or 9 by september, so we can sit dlee and kosuke every once in a while down the stretch and get micah some at bats.
  19. no idea where oakland's AAA club is, but if it's west coast, he probably staffed a game or two for them. anyway, induct murton into the aaa hall of fame.
  20. it's possible that dempster might sign a backloaded deal, as well, and take marquis' money when he leaves after 09.
  21. "Here comes Phelps weakest event" /sets world record
  22. im trying to figure out how that triple play happened. third to first to third?
  23. Phillip Rivers
  24. WR Jericho Cotchery (NYJ)
  25. To be fair, it would take me at least 24 hours to go transform "haha you're paying Edmonds to hit home runs against your own team" to "haha Edmonds hit a HR and your center fielder sucks". it takes even longer to do on dial-up from your trailer, i'd imagine. it's a wonder we got that post before midnight.
