  1. let's not pretend less chris rose and kevin millar is a bad thing
  2. No matter what Hendricks does going forward, i think we can all agree he deserves this for what he's done so far.
  3. i remember adam dunn being kinda sneaky fast for a big fat country boy
  4. You say that like other pictures exist
  5. He's averaging close to 2k per inning in his ultra-small MLB sample size. Big leaguers swing at them and miss. He just needs more consistency with his other pitches to set that up. 21 percent o-swing last year and career 31 percent swing rate, rick ankiel, the year he was knoblauching himself, had percentages of 32 and 54
  6. Yates BB/9 in AA and AAA 5 3 3 4 3 3 Maples BB/9 in AA and AAA 7 (!) 5 9(!!)
  7. he's 27
  8. You saw the one that was a called strike right? And sure big leaguers don't swing at them. Right. he has 11 walks in as many innings in the big leagues. His WHIP is 2.25. You don't throw a slider for strikes, you throw it in the dirt when you already have 2 strikes on a hitter or are at least in a pitcher's count. Since he can't command any other pitch, when he faces a big league hitter he rarely gets in a pitcher's count and actual major leaguers know they can just spit on anything that looks like a slider. anyone with a good slider is going to have a nice highlight reel given enough time, but you gotta be able to command another pitcher for it to be of use.
  9. looks real good against AA hitters, but major leaguers just don't swing at them
  10. almora had a .200 ops in the second half but he added a leg kick this spring so he totally deserves a roster spot
  11. i wouldnt do it on OOTP but this is the real world where our biggest offseason waves were made by signing a ... 38 year old dude who rick ankieled himself out of the minors 16 years ago so probably not gonna dunk on the cardinals in this case, thank you
  12. remember when people wanted to trade schwarbs for him
  13. I feel like this has happened before, like within the last 5 or 6 years. It's more like a week before, right? yesterday was the 20th and 12 days before the Cubs first game. dont the cubs play in 7 days?
  14. the whole reason it is happening is because his control is being manipulated by service time issues. alas
  15. Does "not happy" mean they're pissed he's still around, or pissed that he's not getting even more support? The first one. Think Mrs Bryant and Melisa Reidy were/are very close. it's called "sister wives"
  16. "does she have boobs? heh, you could say that  "
  17. kyle being back on the cubs suck bandwagon makes it so clear to me that they're going to be good again
  18. 81-80 (rainout that won't be made up)
  19. white sox probably heard from FAs this offseason that the organization wasnt player friendly enough
  20. wasnt kimbrel essentially uplayable at the end of last year? Not that about 30 percent of our bullpen is currently in the same situation
  21. I still don’t understand what shifts have to do with pace of play
  22. Hey man, nice tweet
