  1. Lmao are your feelings hurt? Poor guy. Maybe if you could have stopped yourself from acting like an authority on a subject you haven't paid attention to for at least two years, you could have avoided degrading yourself so publicly. This is what I was talking about from the very beginning. The guy was clearly stating that the cubs were treating this like a scenario where they had to shed themselves of this nonsense roster before progressing, rightly or wrongly. But because you just couldnt stand a post being made that didn't term it how your limited understanding wanted it termed, you got all excited and made a fool of yourself, per usual.
  2. I think you might literally be the only person in this thread using the term ''fire sale." Just call it what it is, a concerted effort to shed as many assets as possible and to acquire as many sheddable assets as possible. You're pompously droning on and on about things you clearly haven't been paying attention to, its pathetic.
  3. undoubtedly Moving 7 players over 2.5 seasons just doesn't strike me as a fire sale. well yeah, when you ignore 200 roster decisions and focus only on 7 trades I can see how that could happen
  4. When Sammy Sosa injured himself sneezing, why didn't he tell police that he was injured fighting off a gang of ninjas

  6. lmao x2
  7. 72 percent of 2012's cubs roster is no longer on the 40-man. if that doesn't count as a purge to you, well, i dont know what to say.

  10. lmao Please, show me this dramatic blow up of the "old team." Byrd, Soto and Dempster traded in 2012. Soriano, Garza and Marmol traded this year. My God, it's like the post-WS Marlins in here, what with all of the flames and all. you've already said you don't pay attention to the minor leagues (clearly) and from this thread, it's clear you're not paying attention to the major league team, so ... http://i.imgur.com/MkjEDx3.jpg What is it, would you say, that you do here?
  11. lmao Please, show me this dramatic blow up of the "old team." Byrd, Soto and Dempster traded in 2012. Soriano, Garza and Marmol traded this year. My God, it's like the post-WS Marlins in here, what with all of the flames and all. out of 53 players baseball reference lists as appearing on a cubs roster during 2012, I count 15 still on the 40-man, including such luminaries as rafael dolis, josh vitters, brett jackson and chris rusin.
  12. http://blogs.roanoke.com/andybittervirginiatechfootball/files/2013/09/9.23p-hokie-stone.jpg that looks like someone photoshopped a sim city 2000 map onto a god damn helmet

  18. i know you don't really believe in what you post when you say something like this, that is understated and not filled with a bunch of over the top absurdity
  19. the point was that everyone knew what he was saying, but pretended that it was some crazy nonsense they just couldn't grasp so they could whine about how bad the cubs are some more.
  20. i kind of skimmed through it, but PFF was talking about how he SHREDS the blitz and Seattle knew this and rushed 4 most of their game; i didn't really watch enough of today's game to see if Indy did that too also, they have pretty putrid receivers after Crabtree, Manningham, V Davis (all out today) edit: looking at the box score, Bradshaw with 5 YPC and TRich with just 2.7 YPC (long of 7! on 13 carries)...does TRich actually just suck? I think so, yes. You have undrafted guys like joique bell having more success in a spot start than Richardson has ever had.
  21. Wow, I just Realized how close we are to basketball.
  22. to be fair, i should have said they havent "been that bad" and we've played nobodies, so who knows
  23. they're not that bad, really. i can't believe i just said that.
  24. all the analogies were pointless and made it kind of hard to follow, but all he was saying was that he figured the team would keep stockpiling prospects and moveable veterans while they waited for opportunities to move Soriano/Zambrano/whatever. but of course it just becomes a big [expletive] of everyone trying to prove who is made the most miserable by the cubs shitty seasons
