  1. I can't stand any of them other than Edmonds, but Shannon is the worst by a wide margin. He's not only terrible calling the game, his mush mouthed mispronunciations are absolutely awful as well. Shannon is the one I've heard the least, so I'll take your word for it. he's so bad it's *almost* worth it to listen to a game he's doing
  2. seriously is he a hitter or a pitcher or both when he comes over?
  3. plus he pees himself
  4. If anything, it would have to be named after BacktoBanks. Shoot it wasn't SweetSwingingBilly who called Jim Hendry's office to tell him to make a specific trade? The one who then passed away a little while later? and the [expletive] made the trade. i like to think billy gave his soul for that trade
  5. Now we just need CubbieBum and yanrslatr appearances 100 percent chance bum would say something inappropriate
  6. I woke up in the middle of the night pissed about this. He should have been here for the playoffs, dammit.
  7. Not only was that his last post, it was from a victory against the Cardinals.
  8. we'll have to ask logan
  9. jose fernandez has 238 strikeouts in 167 innings ...

  12. Lester could die in the offseason in some bizarre way that means we still have to like burn the money we would have given him over the remainder of his contract and it still would have been worth it.
  13. i hate every nl central team that's not teh cubs
  14. SEC! SEC! SEC! SEC!
  15. Mainly this was my thing. Not to mention that Matt Bush is notorious for other things, like almost killing someone, which makes him an odd guy to bring up. I only brought him up because he was the first guy I thought of where his future position wasn't known when he was drafted. He could've been drafted as either a pitcher or a hitter. And we had him in a sim league and despite giving him gaudy ratings, he basically sucked like in real life His sim version did not kill anyone tho, so he had that going for him
  16. you wanna weigh in on the sliding into fist base debate?
  17. why dont you continue breaking more news to us, like pitchers get hurt, and walks are actually good
  18. no because no one is debating it. It's an accepted fact that doesn't even need to be said out loud. It's like saying "well yes he's leading the league in home runs, but odds are he's not going to hit one in this at bat." No [expletive], you're not exactly dropping knowledge nu-Derwood. except the post i replied to directly disputing my statement that i'm just happy to have a roll of the dice. he was calling you a wet-blanket loser, not debating that it was a dice roll.
  19. big if true
  20. no because no one is debating it. It's an accepted fact that doesn't even need to be said out loud. It's like saying "well yes he's leading the league in home runs, but odds are he's not going to hit one in this at bat." No horsefeathers, you're not exactly dropping knowledge nu-Derwood.
  21. Last month of the season, here's some weird stuff Yunel Escobar is hitting .320, 4th in the AL. Albert Pujols is leading the AL in RBIs with 110. Khris Davis (35) has more homers than Chris Davis (34.) Yasmany Thomas has the fifth most homers (27) in the NL, one more than Anthony Rizzo. Yasmani Grandal has 24 homers in just 330 at bats, a better ratio than Giancarlo Stanton (25 HR in 381 at bats.) Jed Gyorko (28) has more homers than Bryce Harper (23.) Adam Duvall has hit only four home runs since Aug. 1, and Trevor Story hasn't played a game since July 30, but Duvall is still third in the league in homers and Story is fifth. Justin Verlander, somehow good? (209 strikeouts in 195 innings, 3.28 ERA.) The top nine pitchers in strikeouts are Scherzer (243,) Jose Fernandez (224,) MadBum (217,) Chris Archer (211,) Verlander (209,) Price and Sale (193,) Kluber (189,) and Thor (188.) Who's tenth? Robbie Ray (183.)
  22. But way worse free throw shooters are trying to make theirs too. But there are 7 of them and one Shaq and only one can do it, so it's still considerably more likely that one of the other 7 does it. this is the stupidest horsefeathers to even bother thinking about. Yes robot, the field has better odds than any one individual team, the same as every sport every year.
