trout was +13 once, his rookie season. Griffey had a four-year run of 11.5/14.8/33.5 (!!!!!!!)/16.8 in his mid 20s. If Trout ever ripped off a 33.5 season in CF he'd be like 13 WAR lol

Oh it's my choice. The firm is [expletive] paying for it, not me. They'd pay for the conference hotel.I like sitting in the bar watching whatever sports are on tv at the end of the day. You can't do that as easily in a fancy hotel full of horsefeathers lawyers. But it's SF, none of the hotels are exactly cheap. The only reason I mentioned it is a cubs t-shirt doesn't really stand out if I'm walking through the holiday inn lobby. But I'm glad we've thoroughly dissected another throw away line here. awww poor guy

My favorite thing to do with Mike Trout is see where he falls in the all-time WAR rankings. At his current pace, he'll surpass Ken Griffey Jr in three seasons. He doesn't have a lot of these 9 and 10 WAR seasons left because the defense is gonna be a negative here pretty soon, but at this point it would be a huge upset for him not to finish with 100 WAR, which would put him in the top 20 of all time -- a list that is like bonds, ARod and 18 dudes who played in totally different eras.

And if he was driving the boat that night ... well yeah it would be worse than oscar Didnt it come out that there was no alcohol in his system? Or am I misremembering? police just said they didnt find drugs or alcohol in the boat. no way they've gotten blood tests back

why? If lots of guys did it but didn't lead the league maybe that shows you it was relatively easy to do in those years. sub 2 and leading league is cool oh, come on. as it is, 2 is just an arbitrary cutoff point that looks cool. it tells you just about nothing. i mean, if you want to look at what you're talking about, you just go look up who led the league in ERA+. hell, just last year arrieta had a considerably lower ERA (and better ERA+) but didn't lead the league because grienke happened to be lower. you know what else is dumb? pitching wins. It actually tells you nothing about how good the pitcher has been all year. watch out for more hot takes at my twitter page

As opposed to all the ways we get knocked out of the playoffs that you won't lose your [expletive] mind? there's just something about the idea of this guy being good for the cubs for like 15 months or whatever A DECADE AGO, then mysteriously being good again as an old man and beating the best cubs team ive ever seen that would be especially infuriating.
