  1. Yeah, if I told this board that Russell would be a 20 HR, 80 RBI guy while hitting 9th half the year, with gold glove defense, everyone would have thought those were extreme ceiling numbers. Addison Russell has hit 9th exactly once this year lmao
  2. i still cant believe we got addy for samardzija and half a year of freaking hammel lol
  3. I love Pat and Ron because Pat is a legend and while Ron is average, they have a great rapport. They play off each other so well, it makes the games easy to listen to
  4. lol im in the same boat. every day is some variation of "looking forward to the game tonight" *three innings later* "this is so boring, we're up by a million games"
  5. I don't hate ARod or anything like that, but at best he's just been a ridiculously easy person to laugh at and mock. I mean, yeah, it's ultimately just a game, but I can't think of another player with his talent level with as little respect his way, or someone who just so consistently managed to do or say the wrong thing to make him look even more absurd. Like, Bonds was a notorious dick, but that often just made him more intimidating and enigmatic and even badass. ARod is just a clown. I guess I feel sorry for him in the sense that you feel sorry for someone who simply can't stop making a complete ass of themselves, but mostly I just found him hilarious. http://i.imgur.com/KDCaduk.jpg
  6. guys this game is meaningless and joe doesn't give a horsefeathers about bringing in chapman in the 7th to ensure a win or whatever. i think he's far more interested in testing the lesser-proven guys right now than trying to win 105 games instead of 104
  7. for 21 hours a day Im like hey heyward is technically worth the contract and he's a good defender and then the game starts and i horsefeathering hate him. i wish it was him that abused his wife
  8. There are now no active players who debuted before my intern was born. I'm so [expletive] old. literally the lamest humble brag in history
  9. The last month of the season can change everything and oddly enough there has been no "this is the best player in the NL" narrative yet, maybe because the focus has been on how good the cubs have been as a team. With Kershaw hurt, Harper playing poorly-ish and McCutcheon being dead, you don't really have a media-anointed superstar playing like a superstar in the NL right now. I'd say it's set to be one of Bryant/Rizzo/Murphy depending on how august and september go and what storylines come out of the final month.
  10. Weaver feels like the kinda guy that will give up two massive dongs to soler
  11. if arod gets bought out lets sign him
  12. jesus christ this is a shitty page
  13. Ok, well obviously you'd know better than I would, but if he's not, then what competition does Westbrook really have? They have one professional sports team that's only been around for 8 years or so now. that's what im talking about you doofus. Everyone always assumed/hoped it would be Durant and that he'd stay here forever and there'd be statues of him etc. Meanwhile Westbrook was always one step away from being shipped out of town and people always griped that he was going to go to a big market as soon as he could. And what happens? Durant leaves to go carry Steph's dick and Westbrook re-signs when faced with a much less-advantageous situation than Durant. I mean it was like 2 years ago people here wanted to trade him for horsefeathering Rondo. Most of that is because oklahomans are dumb and only cared about college football for 100 years but the point is that his choice to stay cemented his legacy here. No matter what he does next people are going to say "hey at least he gave it a shot.
  14. Let's not go too far here. He has an opt out after 2 years when he will become a 10 year vet and be able to make a crapload more. If OKC can't put a contender around him they will be back in this situation in 2 years or possibly as early as next summer. if he leaves in 2 years because the team blows people here will be like "hey he tried to compete." You don't know what the mood is here in the state today.
  15. no one here cares about AD anymore
  16. yeah mark, crashing into marcus giles didn't help. of course neither did putting you back in the game after that so whatever
  17. what an about face. westbrook has always been the black sheep "ball hog," "glory ball," "trade him for rondo" while durant has been the golden boy. Now durant is a villain and westbrook is probably going to retire the most popular athlete in oklahoma history
  18. omg the part about ross trying to run down a celebrating Tomas between first and second is killing me hahahahahha
  19. from 96 to 89-92 after only 120 innings every 7 days, sounds like he'll be just fine to throw 180+ every five days! Who is counting on anyone in this system as is becoming a 180+ inning starter in the majors? Pulling off a more successful Warren starter/reliever would be a win out of this group by the end of the end of this decade. you are arguing yourself into some pretty horrendous circles here
  20. Which is why I specifically said "And you are definitely high on Hatch's velocity, as are many of the pre-draft scouting reports". He maybe reached back for 96 once in his 3rd start of the year or something, but I personally watched his last 2 starts and he was 89-92. I don't understand how I'm high on his velocity based on what you're saying yet. I don't doubt he sat 88-92 in his last two starts of the year at 88-92, but that's not out of the ordinary overall. We're likely talking 120+ innings in. from 96 to 89-92 after only 120 innings every 7 days, sounds like he'll be just fine to throw 180+ every five days!
  21. who here remembers when BP & FG had Moore as the #1 prospect over Trout & Harper? to be fair his profile at the time was fairly remarkable, but its a good example of why TINSTAAP because by the time moore got to start his first full season he was nowhere near the guy he was in the minors
  22. fairly confident we can swing a deal for a replacement level starter after the deadline without giving up baez
  23. why would this matter whatsoever
