  1. I am OK with everything you said, but... the prospect draft should start after BA's list comes out. I would hate to see the first few drafters not have the list and the rest have the advantage of having it. I believe the subscribers get the list early. I would hate to see them having an advantage over everyone who is not a subscriber. BA is not the only authority on prospects. True. But it is near the top and when I follow the prospect draft and the order of BA's list there is a very high degree of correlation.

  3. True. All I am saying is that I noticed that his line-up was flashing "Illegal". I thought he had not noticed that he had a slot open for a reliever who was sitting on his bench. If he wanted to field a line-up with just one reliever he could, but...
  4. You can do a bench swap, but your line-up must remain legal. 16 active players and 3 reserves. You cannot have 16 active players and 4 reserves. If you have an illegal line-up with 4 pitchers reserved, then you must have 15 active players. I assume that would mean 4 active pitchers.
  5. I sent out three messages. 1) Involved a RP, but it seems that Tim was already aware of this and the issue had been settled. 2) One bench has 5 reserves. But two of those reserves are clearly minor league players. If the owner would just adjust his line-up. He has the open slots in his minors. 3) Is the case of 4 reserves. Three pitchers and one position player. One player has to be dropped. I tend to keep 3 SP's on my bench. Right now I have 2, but I am not sure if Hart will start the season on the DL. Since I do not want to lose Hart, I have him on the bench, Chapman as a RP, and put Reed in the minors. Tori Hunter is active. Once Hart is playing, I will probably drop Hunter, put Reed back in as RP, and treat Chapman as a SP (Assuming Baker is smart enough to start Chapman) and he will be my third starter on the bench. BTW - I am not a commish, so if you want contact Tim a get a definite ruling. My interpretation of the rules is off at times.
  6. My understanding is yes, you can bench a starter in order not to exceed 7 starts. That would mean only 4 starters would be active. As far as having 9 starters and therefore permanently having 4 reserves... meaning you do not have a second RP, or...?? A commish will have to weigh in on that. But the team I saw had 20 active players, 16 regulars with a bench of 3 pitchers and 1 position player. I also understand that this year you can pick up a FA to get your 7th start. But I am assuming that if you do so, then you would have to drop someone in order to keep your line-up legal.
  7. KR has bailey on the bench because he didn't have him in his lineup by the deadline on 3/28, so he can't use him this week. i have no problem with this, obviously. I didn't realize that this had been discussed. As long as everyone is cool with this, then so am I.

  9. Today is 3/30. I just did a quick check and found 3 illegal line-ups. But two of them can be easily fixed. One can take a RP off the bench and put him into the active line-up. He has an open slot. One has two extra players on the bench, but they are minor leaguers and he has more than enough room in the minors. But a third has a bench of 4 players and needs to drop someone. I sent an e-mail to all three owners. They could have it fixed by the end of today. I did not check on the validity of the injured reserves, nor whether those players in the minors are legally there.
  10. I am assuming "you guys" means me (and the others like me). So that once the prospect draft is over I can replenish my minor leagues, but I can't pick up anyone drafted in June and/or any international signees who sign after our prospect draft. If that is correct, we need to word-smith our bi-laws so that other new owners are not confused. I would also argue to have our prospect draft at this time of year. I think that the majority of us rely on BA's (and other) top prospect lists to do our prospect drafting. Right now the lists are more fresh and therefore more accurate. Without these lists, our prospect draft would suffer. I think that next year we should have a reasonable time limit (24 hrs) and start the prospect draft when we start the major league draft. Right after BA publishes its top 100 prospect list. I would also like to say that this has been a fun league to be a part of. My compliments to the commishes that we have had who have developed the rules, etc. Not perfect, but good.
  11. We need Juan and/or Tim to speak to this. But I can remember several discussions we had about this.
  12. Well, considering that I was wrong before ... It was my understanding that any prospect not taken in our spring draft could be picked up as a free agent during the season. That the only players that I could not pick up during the season were players drafted in this June's MLB draft and international signee's not available during Roadkill's draft. Once a player had passed through one prospect draft unselected, then he was fair game. Am I wrong again?
  13. With the early start to the season, did anyone get an unfair advantage due to an illegal roster? If not, I wouldn't get too upset. Also, has any decision been made on how many starts we can have this first week? Normally it is 7, but this is a weird week.
  14. I find it hard to believe that that many teams still have space in their minors and still want to pick in the minor league draft. Would those that are done with this draft, please post that you are done. I think that would speed things up. BTW - I am done for now. Later on during the season, I may pick up some more prospects, but I can't pick up anyone selected in the June draft. I assume that will mean also any international prospect who has not signed yet (ie Solar). But since Concepcion has already signed he is eligible for our prospect draft and could be picked up (as soon as the waiver wire is open) as a free agent.
  15. Someone with Commish powers need to change the roster limits back so that teams can tell they are illegal. Right now it shows every team is legal. Either that or guys forgot today was "soft" opening day. :-k Agreed.
  16. I agree. What is the penalty for having an illegal bench. The commish picks the players to be dropped?
  17. lol haven't the mods reduced our reserves yet? We should be at three.
  18. 1) From now on, I will be passing in this draft. 2) You all do realize that the season starts tomorrow, oops today, or since it is Japan perhaps yesterday. But the point is the drafts should be over, the line-ups legal, it is time to play ball.
  19. Good Question.

  25. Are we going to do just two rounds? Even though I could use another pick, I would not be upset if that is all we did. Do you want to limit the major league draft to 10 rounds? (I think we are currently scheduled for 12.) Personally, I would not mind if we stopped at the end of the current round.
