  1. The Cubs sit at 8-6 right now. Half of our regulars on offense are hitting below the Mendoza line. Our starting pitching has been terribly mediocre, and our bullpen has been a complete mess. I don't know about you guys, but I figure we'll get a little better as the days pass on, especially our starting pitching. I know this is a game thread and it's intended to be irrational, but I can't help but think the Cubs are going to be just fine.
  2. LOL, Bradley will be fine. Soriano has been hitting in the .100's going into May the previous 2 years and he turned out just fine. Eventually, Milton will turn these 3-1 counts into hits.
  3. Mike Murphy on the Score was trying to say all winter that Kenny Williams trading Nick Swisher and getting anything valuable for him was the best move by a Major League GM during the decade of the 2000's.
  4. LMAO, The Brewers untuck their jerseys after a win. How is that better than jumping into each other after a win?
  5. LOL, Wise is a career .209 hitter with a career .625 OPS. What the hell did they expect him to do? Meanwhile, Bradley led the AL in OPS last year. Stone is a bitter ass anyway. I hope he's miserable in the Sox booth this year with that blowhard Hawk.
  6. C'mon Indians, come back and have the lead going into the 9th. I want to see Kerry Wood close out a game.
  7. Wow, this is starting to get scary. From a sure 4 seed to being nervous about even getting in. The Hawks also have 11 OT losses now, so a title change is in place, just so there's no confusion.
  8. 14-2 to end the day, but I did lose a sweet 16 team in Illinois. My other loss was Minnesota so I guess my big 10 homerism cost me a perfect day.
  9. This Minnesota game is so frustrating to watch. Pittman gets away with murder in the paint, and the guy guarding Abrams refuses to play him tight. Apparently, Abrams takes the ball to the hoop all of a sudden. All he does is shoot jumpers, get in his damn face.
  10. Holy crap, this is the first time I've ever won the first 7 games. Maryland needs to stay hot for me.
  11. 10 OT losses. Let's not give this pitiful bunch an extra point.
  12. My first round upsets include North Dakota St., Cleveland St., and Wisconsin. I also came up with the big 10 going 7-0, and Arizona St. ending up in the Final Four. Oh, and Maryland in the Elite 8. We'll see how awful this all turns out.
  13. Did Jim Nantz really say the Illini will probably play in the 8/9 game? I don't understand why they have someone do these championship games when they haven't done college basketball all year, and really have no clue what theyre talking about.

  16. Z, just so you know, the official "locks" for this committee are listed in the first post, so teams like WVU, Cal, Texas, and Wisconsin are not locks, per say, yet. Ah ok, I knew I was doing something wrong. I think I've got the hang of it now, though.
  17. I have my 16 top locks as: Pittsburgh UNC UConn Oklahoma Michigan St. Memphis Louisville Duke Wake Forest Washington Clemson Kansas Xavier Missouri UCLA Gonzaga Top 8 still under consideration: California BYU West Virginia Texas Boston College Tennessee Ohio St. Wisconsin

  19. Holy crap, what a goal by Havlat. That guy can freaking play. And the Hawks record is incorrect on the thread title. Their record is 36-17-9
  20. It was probably the same guy who said AJ was better than Soto last year, because he calls a better game. And maybe the same guy who said Alexei Ramirez was robbed of the ROY.
  21. That page is already hanging on my wall. My favorite Cub of all time. I can't wait until he returns to Wrigley and gets that ovation.
  22. I don't want to waste your time with some wise crack about the Sox and their fans, whom I both respect. But... before contributing, I decided to google your name. http://www.whitesoxinteractive.com/rwas/index.php?category=2&id=2242 So instead of contributing a story or making a stupid remark about the Sox, I declined to comment. Haha, go F yourself Dan.
