  1. When you're rattling off a list of the team's talents, and the 3rd name on your list is Rick Ankiel(the hitting version) then there's not a lot of talent out there. he's on track for 34 homers, and is still only 28. he's also obviously got a cannon arm in RF.
  2. Carpenter is coming off Tommy John surgery and there's no guarantee he's going to be able to come back healthy right away. It might not be until 2009 that he regains form. The last time Mulder pitched, he had a 7.14 ERA and a 1.7 WHIP in 93 innings in 2006. The Cardinals have some talent, just not that much and not as much as the Cubs and Brewers. I agree, their talent level is definitely below that of Chicago and Milwaukee, and maybe even Cincy. But...I just think a quality organization finds a way to stay competitive, and sometimes blind luck can be enough to put you over the hump.
  3. And they dont have any?? Pujols, Wainwright, Ankiel, Glaus, Yadier, Isringhausen...with Mulder and Carpenter returning, and Rasmus in the minors they do have a lot of subpar veterans and aaaa players overperforming right now though...specifically say, ryan ludwick and skip racecar
  4. It is absolutely -beyond- me how some of you are counting the Cardinals out already. I mean, have you been paying attention the last 30 years? Superior management and coaching regularly produces fundamentally sound teams, and they sometimes turn into unexpected winners.
  5. Same. Soto is certainly showing some durability so far.
  6. Neither Pie or Johnson tonight...Fukudome slides to CF and the 2 slot in the order, with Ward the Massive in RF. Hrmm.
  7. I may or may not have just heavily edited his Wiki page.
  8. Sisco is a jerkstore. Met him a few times when he was with the Peoria Chiefs..just a total pompous jerk.
  9. Hill will be starting tomorrow - Marquis is sick.
  10. Nice AB by Soto..pushed it to a full count then delivered a single through the left side ...and Zambrano coming up to bat!!
  11. I have to admit, Ryan's surprised me. He's showing amazing control (for him) so far in his two starts.
  12. 44 And can we please get one cubs broadcast that doesn't look like absolute crap? This particular broadcast looks like I'm watching it through dirty glass or something.
  13. This is one of the stupidest damn comments I've read on this forum. Agreed. I think we all agree that there is atleast 5-8 GMs who are clearly worse then Hendry. Yea, I'm not debating if Hendry is a good/bad GM. That's up for discussion. But to say he's the worst GM in baseball?? Knee jerk, meet reaction.

  16. Think Weeks' HR had anything to do with Soriano going back to leadoff today?
  17. Imagine if Dempster was the one that blew up yesterday for 3 runs.
  18. and he'd probably refuse to hang out with elitists as well....I mean, mind saying why he's a 'meat head and idiot'?
  19. memphis is annihilating
