  1. The 81% are like the ones who cheer every time the Cubs hit a fly ball.
  2. About 10 seconds after Hermidas home run I heard a cheer,I guess someone threw the ball back. I guess that makes everything ok then.
  3. Well,at least they didn't get picked off.
  4. At this point this isnt on Lou. Believe me Lou is to blame for some things, but the baserunning isnt one of them. These guys are making little league mistakes. I just think we have a team of dumbasses. If he gets the credit when they win... Huh? these guys are pros they should know by know when u are on 2nd base and a ball is hit in front of you you dont advance. If Lou or any manager in the game was to try continually going over this, the players wouldnt be paying a bit of attention. They would all be thinking "we know this dumbass come on we are pros". How about benching them?Other than Lee or Aram, the replacement players production wouldn't be much different, possibly even better. Benching who though? Off the top of my head, murton, jones, barret, theriot, derosa, lee, soriano have all made bad base running mistakes. You calling up AAA to play? What message does his non-action send?Stupid baseball like this made Dusty an analyst. No there was plenty more that made Dusty an analyst. The players should know better plain and simple. Lou cant run the bases for them. We dont know that Lou isnt saying anything to them in the clubhouse. Look, that's what you get when you prefer "toolsy" players. "Toolsy" players rely on their tools vs. being smart and playing with heart. What tools?
  5. Honestly, how many times a year do you hear or hear anyone say, "That was a smart play by Barrett," or "Smart at-bat by Barrett". I know there are lots of people on the board who love him just because offensively he's been one of the better catchers in the NL. But partly because from an offensive standpoint the catcher's position isn't what it was fifteen or twenty years ago, and, think about it, catchers like Ausmus, Pagnozzi, Matheny and Molina have played in more postseason games than Barrett has. Give me a smart catcher and I'll gladly give up offense and find it at another position on the team. Agreed.Give me a catcher who can handle a staff and shut down a running game.I'll sacrifice 40 points of a batting average.
  6. It was a line drive that landed a foot in front of his left foot.He did not have to move,he just plain missed it.Thats a play that should be made.

I just think we have a team of dumbasses. If he gets the credit when they win... Oh he'll definitely get the blame if they don't stop acting like 5 year olds on the basepads. But as for whether it's really his fault, that's open to question. It seems like the only player he calls out is Murton. When has he called out Murton really? The only time I remember Lou calling anybody out so far this year was Ohman, when he was talking about having a pitcher out there throwing 40 foot curveballs lol. Getting picked off last week.

  12. Big contract,day baseball,full house everyday,beautiful Wrigley Field.Whats to be upset about?
  13. Wasn't Lou gonna change this ,stress fundamentals and all?
  14. DeRosa tried to go from second to third on a routine grounder to short. Barrett was picked off of second by the catcher. Do you people really want to pay to see this?
  15. If DeRosas play was stupid, how would you describe Barretts?
  16. I'm switched over to ESPN for the Giants vs. Mets game. Lincecum was at 85 pitches with 2 outs in the 5th.The analyst said he will probably only go 6,that 7 innings would be pushing it. The analysts name is Dusty Baker.
  17. Shouldn't Marquis be batting in front of Izturis and Pagan?
  18. They should be doing both. They need upgrades at many spots. But,all they do is get a bunch of mediocre players, and act like they got something. Jones,Izturis,Pagan,Floyd,Barrett,DeRosa,Eyre,Howry,Ohman,Dempster. Trading some of them for prospects or better players would hardly be considered "waving the white flag". I would call it improving. Trading prospects for mediocre middle relievers would be Hendrys typical formula of trying to catch "lightning in a bottle". Given the list of middle relievers that was posted,i'd rather pitch Guzman,Marmol, and whoever else they want to bring up.
  19. I can't imagine Lou being here 3 years. I'm guessing he's a Yankee next year. From what I recall hearing over the winter,Piniella wasn't interested in the Yankee job. I see Girardi as the next Yankee manager.
