  1. I agree with you, but Roberts has only been at or above .825 once, which was .903. His next best season was .808.
  2. Yeah, I think Hill easily has more value than Roberts, especially considering age and salary.
  3. Does Dusty want to finish the job?
  4. I really wish I could believe you were joking. This is why the Patriots have to be stopped, by whatever means necessary.
  5. Bruce did say the Cubs were going to come out blazing.
  6. Link: http://www.metsblog.com/2007/11/03/blog-scouting-report-on-kosuke-fukudome/ I love Fukudome's potential, but I'd be worried about giving $13 million to a player with those numbers. Gotta pay for that OBP though (ironically) that is a terrible scouting report. What is a good one?
  7. Another glaring reason we need a new GM. Bradley had an OBP over .400 and an SLG over .500 playing in the worst hitter's park in MLB. Put this guy in the NL Central and watch him go. He's left-handed AND can catch the ball....It would seem he's perfect for Hendry, but sadly, is not.
  8. Imagine if we got Bradley and Hamilton for barely anything and they both played to their potential. That would be pretty awesome.....But there's also the chance they'd both fail miserably. That would not be awesome.
  9. I would barely trade Murton for Teahan, but definitely not Murton, Fox AND another prospect. I want Fox on the bench as a righty HR threat and emergency catcher. I think he has some value and wouldn't include him as a thrown in for someone who's not a significant improvement. But if this is based in the world of "what Hendry would consider", then I guess its not that bad.
  10. Not sure it will be that big of a difference, at least over the next 3 years. If he establishes himself as a superstar, then yes. I'm not so sure there's going to be a huge ad campaign built up around a non-english speaking first year player. But the real money is going to be when he signs his 2nd major league contract. He's got to go where he thinks he can build up his value highest for that contract. It makes me want to cry that an athlete wouldn't consider a $40m contract "real money".
  11. It sometimes seems like the Brewers are determined to make sure they never have more than a mediocre team with all the great talent they've produced.
  12. Well, the Tigers did get Cabrera and Willis, but the Royals got Guillen.....That division ain't won yet.
  13. It would be awesome if Hendry started offering Fuld for people like Santana, Bedard, Cabrera, etc. Since there are GM's dumber than Hendry, I bet someone would see those rumors and believe that Fuld is a stud and give us something good. This is all part of a master plan.
  14. Dude, do you have any idea how close Seattle is to Japan? They practically share a border....He definitely knows.
  15. Maybe that is the cousin of Kosuke....Let's hope Hendry didn't get burned by the ole bait n switch. that made me laugh
  16. Cali has 394k Japanese-American, Illinois with less than 28k. k? So since you're using the metric system, and Cali is bigger than Illinois....once you convert it to standard....then Illinois has 5 gallons more per square mile?
  17. Then we should come offering Marmol. If something like Marmol/Pie/Gallagher could get Bedard, that would be amazing. I would really like Bedard to be on the Cubs.
  18. 2007 Cubs: vs. RHP: .274/.335/.419 = .754 OPS vs. LHP: .263/.325/.431 = .756 OPS If they had problems with left-handers then you can just as easily say they had problems with right-handers, as well. Whaaaaat? I guess I never did see stats to back it up, but it seemed obvious that they struggled more against lefties. That's a little bit mind-blowing.
  19. Since when does anything Jim Hendry does make sense? He has a lot more value than either of those relievers. It would be a good deal even if we don't need him.
  20. Trade Marshall for Hamilton Platoon Hamilton/Murton in RF. Hamilton was .319/.391/.637/1.028, 18 HR 43 RBI in 256 PA's vs. righties last year. Murton was .319/.386/.505/.892, 3 HR 9 RBI in 101 PA's vs. lefties. Sign Fukudome for CF Trade Pie for SP or SS help Boom. tough actin' tinactin!
  21. Yes, just get a minor leaguer and dump his salary.
  22. I might do Hill for Swisher, but I'd rather sign Fukudome and keep Hill. Swisher > Fukudome Swisher << Fukudome/ Hill Or maybe Marshall for Hamilton and have a Hamilton/Murton platoon.
  23. there's no way the cubs will get more value than a slightly below league average starting pitcher if they trade prior right now. I would have thought that, but that's also when I wouldn't have thought there's be a line around the corner asking about him. If there's a market, someone might overpay. Jim Hendry = Best Buy on Black Friday... People are lining up...nobody's overpaying. Ha, thats a very good and accurate analogy. However, I can't help but be optimistic no matter how many times it bites me in the ass.
