  1. If Navin hadn't locked the other thread, we'd be able to quote previous replies showing he has a great arm. Some of us can still quote it. Show off
  2. Man, our outfield defense is going to be amazing. I just hope we can add a little more hitting and pitching.
  3. Not to be a kissass, but the fact that you post on here is pretty awesome, not gonna lie. Yeah, its pretty awesome that a big deal is going down and he's still taking the time to give us the inside scoop. TO BRUCE!!!
  4. In response to your lineup in the other thread Roberts Fukudome Lee Ramirez Soriano Soto Theriot Pie I would do that too but isn't Piniella still going to leave Soriano in leadoff? That'd be great if he moved down though. Soto would give him protection. :D If we got Roberts, I think they might move him down. Me having DeRosa at SS was wishful thinking, but I'd still love to see it.
  5. IS it Gonna be Kosuke or Fukudome? Why would it be his first name? That's how Ichiro does it.
  6. Is the 4/50 confirmed? If so, then I am very very pleased.
  7. I'd go Roberts Fukudome Lee Ramirez Soriano DeRosa Soto Pie
  8. If the contract isn't ridiculous, I'll be very happy.
  9. The Dodgers are going to have some good pitching.
  10. Are you being serious? LETS GET SOME CONFIRMATION!!! This thing has dragged on way too long.
  11. I'm as on the Soto bandwagon as anyone else, but those numbers are very unlikely to happen. Those are ROY numbers. While it's possible, I wouldn't pencil it in just yet. I wouldn't really be surprised by the low end of those numbers.
  12. just for those who want to know what a moron looks like... http://www.dailyherald.com/images/columnist/story/mike_imrem.jpg Its "The Todd" in 10 years.
  13. And that's the difference between the Colts and Patriots. Tom Brady would have still been launching it towards the enzone in the 4th quarter of that game. It also irritated me that the announcers kept talking about how bad the Ravens were playing, when if they would have been playing the Patriots, they would have talked about how good the Patriots were playing. I hate the Patriots so much.
  14. I'd think that OBP would at least be .15 points higher. If that's what kind of numbers he's projected at, I say we throw a good prospect and Murton for Teahen then. OBP seems to transfer better than that. I looked up some 1st year transition numbers for OBP. These are their last year in Japan and 1st year in US. Kaz Matsui: .365 - .331 Iwamura: .389 - .359 H. Matsui: .461 - .353 Hideki is the exception, but he did have 17 IBB his last year in Japan. Fuku's OBP has been over .430 the past 3 years, so I wouldn't be surprised if he put up close to .400 here (especially with the subpar pitching he'll face if he's a Cub). SLG seems to drop more than OBP, so I would guess his SLG projection might be pretty close.
  15. But not as much as Hendry loves middle infielders. nevermind.
  16. come on, there's a lot more valuable stats than batting average. Is their a mental beakdown stat? You have, by far, the worst baseball anaysis of anyone currently posting on this board. You dont have to be a stat head to know that hes injury prone, a basket case, and not even an up grade over Jacque Jones offensively or defensively. He is injury prone, but that's why you keep a guy like Matt Murton around as a 4th outfielder. He's not a basket case and he's a tremendous upgrade over Jacque Jones. If he stayed healthy, he'd probably be more productive than Fukudome at less than half the cost. While guys like Andruw Jones and Torii Hunter are getting paid more than their value, guys like Milton Bradley are flying under the radar and getting paid less than their value. He fits what Hendry is looking for. Lefty outfielder with power. Sign him now and if you get Fukudome, then you trade Pie and Marshall for an upgrade in the rotation or the middle infield and call it an offseason. Done. It's really that simple. I completely agree....and its really sad that Bradley won't even cross Hendry's mind.
  17. Wait...an actual writer wrote that? Yikes. Complete with grammatical errors and everything. (There may well indeed be grammatical errors in this post, but I'm not getting paid for this, so its not ironic.)
  18. I gave up trying to take it seriously, because half the responses weren't serious to begin with and everytime I said "get serious", I'm accused of only letting players in that I want. Only a unbelievable racist would put Ty Cobb on a list of good baseball players.
  19. Yeah, I'm guess they either have it backwards or just don't know what they're talking about.
  20. If we were going to give up enough for Baltimore to give up Bedard, I'd rather just have him.
