Weren't you big on Antonelli before? Did you cool on him or did White just grow on you more? Im an Antonelli guy. White's no different than, say, hiring Tim Wilken as our GM. I'd hire Ng before white. Who's Antonelli? Assistant to Shapiro in Cleveland. Regarded as one of the top GM candidates out there. Relies heavily on modern statistical methods. Sounds awesome. Pretty much guarantees the Cubs won't hire him. He probably won't even apply for the job. I have one last bit of hope because of McDounough. He strikes me as a sound business guy, so I'm hoping he will realize that this direction the Cubs need to take right now. He won't be around with the new owner. It's likely they make no GM change until the team gets sold. Pray it's someone like Cuban who would hire a Beane-type of GM. What gives you confidence that Cuban would go for a type like that? Similarities in how he runs the Mavs. So I guess we could expect 120 wins next season followed by a 0-3 sweep to the Padres in the first round ;-). -
I think there is room for worrying about more than one player. Soriano, Lee, Barrett, they've all come up short of expectations. Has Lee really come up short of expectations? #1 in MLB in batting, #9 in OPS, .429/.510/.714 with runners in scoring posisiton. Nike needs to start running the chicks dig the long ball commercials again.

It is, but if they give him space he will cause problems. I might actually take back what I said about Crouch is Pennant is allowed to stay that wide all match.

Pennant is off to a solid start. His speed might give Milan's backline some problems.

I would be happy with a Jones for Justin Spier deal. I would rather get someone for the bullpen right now than a mid level prospect.

Whatever Baldelli's value may be, Tampa probably thinks it is twice that. I would be nervous in how much we would give up to get any of their players.

For some reason I get the feeling he is going to be on a slightly longer leash than any coach for the Mexican National Team. If they have a bad run or crash in the Gold Cup I think he will be gone.

You do nothing with Veal until you figure out what your doing with Zambrano. If they trade Carlos you need Veal.

I almost want to agree with that. He will have nothing on Gordon's power though. I would gladly take Butler over Murton. -

Current ESPN employee Eric Wynalda went on a rant about Rome and how he would love to beat the crap out of him. What did ESPN do with Wynalda, nothing. I think that shows how much they value him.

These are the kinds of games that make me nervous with Chelsea. They always somehow seem to pull it out in the last minute. One more by Liverpool really doesn't make it comfortable.
