  1. The jackass working espn's gamecast is pissing me off with his comments. Anyone know of any live feeds I can try from work?
  2. At least there is no Beasley, he would get torn to shreads. I'm curious to see Gooch and DeMerit, and Spector though, could be a chance to really shine. A 2-1 loss would be a victory here.
  3. Jungmann looked great tonight, he could be a serious prospect in two years. CG for a true freshman in the CWS, not too shabby. I'm not feeling too bad considering Texas should have won game 1, and played great in game 2. A little worried that LSU's offense is fixing to break out.
  4. I'm guessing we can add Shawn Kemp's name to this list. There is no way he has any money making all of the child support payments.
  5. Here's the Lilly signing thread. Most people were ok with Lilly as a secondary option, with the favorites being Schmidt, Padilla and Zito. Feelings were mixed, definitely, and there wasn't a lot of outrage, but there was quite a bit of worry that the money was too high. His inconsistency before the Cubs was brought up quite a bit as well. Given the 3 names above, Lilly looks like a great option.
  6. I thought he was part of the Madoff scam. Yeah it really sucks.
  7. Shut up ;-). You know you want it to go 3 games.
  8. It's great. WHY ISN'T ITALY ADVANCING? THEY BEAT THE U.S. 3-1!! WHAT IS THIS GOAL DIFFERENTIAL STUFF? WHY DON'T THEY JUST USE HEAD-TO-HEAD? It's like they're just completely disregarding Egypt as if they're not involved in the tie at all. Reminds me of how Texas Tech didn't count -- according to the media -- in breaking the three-way Big Twelve South football tiebreaker. http://www.collegegameballs.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/weretexas1.jpg You know I had to shnsajax. I'm ok with it. Despite the head-to-head victory over OU I had a hard time justifying they were really better than them. Then again I am positive Texas could have put up at least the same result OU did against Florida ;-).
  9. So far this has been a real exciting game, it helps that Texas is leading by 2 :-).
  10. "Ding dong the witch is dead, the witch is dead, the witch is dead."
  11. MLB probably thinks it's a good thing to keep the Cubs payroll stagnant. But in reality these negotiations have not held the payroll hostage. It's risen steadily since it was announced they were up for sale. It's Hendry's fault for committing the 2009/2010 dollars that he committed if he feels held hostage at this point. Why, its in their best interest just to have the Cubs in the playoffs.
  12. So he passes up the chance to play in the Champions league group stages with Standard Liège (automatic qualification) to play in the effin' Europa league and that nuthouse in Istanbul? Hope the money makes it worth his while. Isn't there a decent amount of racism in Turkey too?
  13. That's the greatest headline I have seen all year.
  14. This never seems to be an issue when people talk about Dunn.
  15. Since my tivo didn't record the match, what were the thoughts on Charlie Davies?
  16. This is all a joke right?
  17. 17 game hitting streak
  18. He probably does (it's a great job) but I've heard from reliable people that he would like to move back to LA. His family still lives here, he and his wife are from here, etc. he's the brian giles of college basketball coaches. He beats his wife?
  19. Also that shot by Rupp to tie it was a blast.
  20. Wow. For a team that doesn't have a ton of power, they have shown it when they need it in Omaha. Texas and LSU for the title, two of the best programs in history. I'm still excited.
  21. I was coming here just to post this. Federer can pass Sampras a whole lot easier on grass now.

    Week 11

no. rather vehemently, this idea was rejected a couple weeks ago. ok, I will correct it. I remember everything being talked about from a couple of weeks ago. Just didn't see the outcome or remember.

    Week 11

So Magglio is being benched indefinitely according to CBS, is this grounds for me to be able to bench him in favor of someone else? Figured I would just ask first.
  24. Out of curiosity, why don't you think there's a chance it happens? In the last six matches, the only good performance was a 3-0 win over T&T. Because the Confederations Cup isn't viewed as important by the powers that be. The only way he'd get himself fired is if we failed to qualify (not likely since our region sucks) or if/when we get bounced after the group stage next year. I don't think Gulati has the stones to fire him. Even if we did, would the USSF just promote Hackworth or Ellinger or Rongen? That's more of the same-one of those idiots once told an ODP squad that they'd rather have them emulate Frankie Hejduk than Zidane (who was called a show-pony in said speech). Klinsmann's time at FC Hollywood didn't exactly make me regret his not getting the job either, but I guess he'd be the best likely option, since at least he's not of the system. I also think we all underestimated the effect Nowak had on the team, because ever since he quit, we've crapped all over ourselves. We're 1-3 with a GD of -7, and have given up goals in the first 10 minutes of three games, and been red carded twice, both times for idiot fouls that never should have happened. The earliest it could happen would be after Azteca, but even then we have so many built in excuses to keep the symptoms of the disease in place. We never win there, the Confed Cup was a test, we'd still be in 2nd place in the Hex...I just don't see it. Unless he really has lost the locker room, which is what Voros (McCracken) is theorizing. And if that's the case, given that Nike wields some clout and Deuce is Nike's guy, then maybe. I'm curious as to how the firing of Bradley could hurt/help Michael? Mikey is our best central mid. If anything, we'd get a coach that knew how to use him/pair him with someone productive. BB got fired from the Metros and it didn't hurt Mikey. Mikey went to Holland, advanced through the reserves and scored 20, then moved to Gladbach and did the same thing without the padded Erdivisie goal total. He won't be a problem. I wonder if we can rent Arsene Wenger the same way Chelsea did Hiddink ;-)
