  1. You can't find 23 teams with more talent than Notre Dame. Since preseason polls should merely be a judge of talent, I don't get the joke. Uhh yeah there are more than 23 teams with more talent than a 7-6 team that played an easy schedule last year. Sure Notre Dame has great recruiting classes but until those players prove out on the field they deserved to be so highly touted they are still mediocre players. Recruiting is like the MLB draft. You get a whole bunch of players and hope a couple turn out to be good. Sometimes that doesn't happen. Sometimes all that talent isn't coached right which very well be the case in Notre Dame. No matter how you cut it Notre Dame has done nothing in the past couple years to deserve a preseason ranking. I think its more a matter of their talent being overhyped which every team has to some degree. Their schedule is easier this year than last, its probably one of the softest schedules in all of CFB. So sadly they could very well finish in the top 15 or higher.
  2. I'll be in Austin on Sept. 5th.
  3. Right now I think United's biggest problem is in goal. I don't like Foster. I could see them drawing too many games, similar to what Arsenal did last year.
  4. He seemed very anxious, and after the start he had I am sure his adrenaline was running like crazy. Hull were lucky not to give up one, and you could see where Tottenham were giving them problems. Myhill had a great game, I didn't realize he was American born even though he spent pretty much his entire life in England. I don't see United finishing outside of the top 4 either, but outside of the top 2 is very possible. Cesc left with a hamstring injury today. Pretty much the worst thing that could happen to Arsenal. He's probably out for the Celtic match which I don't care about, but could miss the United match on Saturday which would suck.
  5. I don't think we would get more than the quality of draft picks we would get. I would still prefer to keep him, offer arbitration and try to get a 1 year deal signed with him.
  6. Finally watched the Hull match. Jozy got a very nice welcome from the crowd as he was introduced, and his very first touch was brilliant to set up Ghilas for the only goal. He should have scored a couple of minutes later, and had he actually played over the past month he probably buries it. He made a bad decision later on not laying off the ball after Ghilas hit the upright. Then had another great chance on a ball that looked very much like his goal vs. Spain in holding off the defender turning and shooting. Hull went from being dominated the 1st 60 minutes, to dominating pretty much the minute Altidore came on. His decision making will get better actually being with his team. You could tell he really really wanted a goal, and Hull could have score 3-4 after he came on. I think he may have become an instant fan favorite today. Also Stephen Hunt looks like an hobbit. edit: Also the Hull City crowd started a USA chant when Jozy came on right before the goal, very cool!
  7. they probably have 2 more 5* guys sitting the bench. Its one the one position they are thin in. They converted a TE to OL last year, now are converting him back to TE for the season. I think they said he has lost like 30 lbs since the beginning of summer.
  8. According to gamecast Jozy comes in in the 60th minute and gets an assist in the 61st minute. FSC will be replaying the match at 4 today. Hull leading 1-0.
  9. Looks like Jozy is on the bench today, at least he is finally available. Eduardo with a great move setting up Diaby, Arsenal up 1-0.
  10. I didn't see the kickoff, but the extra point was pretty decent form. Much better than I expected from him. the kickoff is at the end of the clip Can't watch youtube at work, they are worried it would hinder my production even more :-) fascist commie totalitarian scum This is great, and just as I was getting tired of the commercials he brings new life into it!!!
  11. That's [expletive] perfect. Keep fit leading up to the World Cup, play on a good team with great players like Makelele and put himself in the shop window for a big move after the World Cup if he deserves it. Most importantly, there is absolutely no excuse for not breaking into the starting XI. I think I am happy they are not paying in Europa also. He should start and get plenty of playing time and not overworked leading up to the WC.

  13. Donovan on loan to Paris St. Germain now after the MLS season appears to be the latest report. I think I like this more than a move to Italy. Then again who knows if it will actually happen.
  14. I didn't see the kickoff, but the extra point was pretty decent form. Much better than I expected from him.
  15. Fulham win 3-1, Everton win 4-0 in Eurpoa. Dempsey gets a goal in the 51st minute.
  16. So they're bringing back Love, Westbrook, LRMAM and Collison to play against KU for the real championship, right? [expletive] Calipari. Its a goodthing Memphis lost or this would be even more of a mess than it is.
  17. Booyah Nicely Done =D>
  18. I didn't know this, but Altidore had now being held up by the US Gov't because of a Swine Flu quarantine. His twitter said he is on his way to JFK and heading out to England tonight. I doubt he will be playing Saturday, but that would be nice.

    Week 20

The only way I have a chance is if we fast forward into the 2010 season.
  20. Texas loses its 3rd TE for the season due to injury today, this is getting stupid.
  21. Burnlet defeated Manu 1-0 today. So far in 16 matches in the EPL, there have been 0 draws. I like that.
  22. You are pretending this is genuinely about a guy who can't make up his mind and regrets retirement. That's nonsense. He has gone out of his way to avoid training camp 2 years in a row, playing the aw shucks routine about indecision. In every team sport if a player skips practice he is criticized. And Troy Aikman's retirement has nothing to do with this story. 10 years ago, and much longer before that, the media and those who consume that media would have discussed at length a story of a guy retiring, unretiring, retiring, unretiring, switching teams and skipping practice. Your theory has big holes. There is no theory. My point is who cares, move on, talk about something else.
  23. Nice find...my favorite part: He's a horrible judge of his own character. I just think its funny that we are giving him so much crap for not being able to make up his mind. I've brought this up in a different thread a while back, but I remember Troy Aikman's retirement and how upset he was about the fact that he couldn't play football anymore. Not that he is choosing to retire, but being physically knocked out of the game for good. If he wants to play, so be it. While Farve hasn't helped his own cause, but the media has made this into what it is and we ate it up. 10 years ago we would not have seen what we see today.
  24. Were just limited to 2nd, SS, and an OF spot to try to improve the offense. I don't like Uggla enough to give up prospects for him, though I am fine with Orlando Hudson even though we balked last year. At SS I am not sure who we can actually get.
  25. Find a taker for Fuku, sign Jason Bay and move Bradley to CF. Perfer to move Sori, but the odds are too small. Or blackmail Michael Hill and force him to accept us throwing the farm to them for Hanley Ramirez.
