  1. I think that's a false hope. We'll see. I think a lot of the stuff around Vince has been overblown. The talent is there, it's just a matter of consistency and confidence. Having 3 different OC's in 3 years hasn't helped him at all either. But he is not a guy that could go to any team in the NFL and make them better at QB. He needs the right coach and system. He's actually had two OCs in three years - Norm Chow for two years and Mike Heimerdinger last year. Vince is definitely a guy who needs the right coaching and system, but I still don't think him developing into a Steve McNair type QB is out of the question. That what I was thinking, did Norm Chow change up his system his 2nd year. I don't know why I have the number 3 stuck in my head with this.
  2. How has Sal Zizzo been doing? I really liked him in 2007.

  4. he was never going to play; reed johnson was the platoon partner for fukudome and the corners were filled by bradley and soriano. pie was never going to "figure it out" in a role where he never played and didn't get to adjust to major league pitching. Agreed. Once we decided to sign Bradley, Pie had no place on this team. I really wish Lou would have given Pie a fair shake last year though... but of course he defaulted to the scrappy veteran Reed Johnson after about 4 games. In all fairness Reed Johnson played very well last year and even hit righties pretty well.

All sports are more fun to watch when there is actual competitive competition, parity, or any element of the unknown. If Tiger was up by 2+ on the 18th hole I would have changed the channel.
  6. I would hope so and even think so, but who knows. They seem like they could add some payroll unlike some other teams. Attracting FA's to play for them is another story all together.

Harrington decided he is tired of contending today. I didn't expect him to be putting up such a horrible round on Sunday, was hoping he would contend all the way until the end with Woods.
  8. That was his thing in college too, his learning curve is very quick but you have to stick with him. I mean half way through his soph. season there was still talk about moving him out to WR.
  9. What is with Aaron Crow? I hate it when players don't sign like this. Its one thing to have teams like the Yankees with unreal budgets, but another thing when teams smaller teams can't draft the best player available because of signability issues. We already limit what young player can do in terms of compensation with arbitration and free agency. They need to find a way to fix this end.
  10. For a big guy, Melton can really run. I saw this package in camp too. Not sure why they would actually do it though. Melton always surprised me with his decent speed as a FB at Texas.
  11. Oh yes he could have. Thomas Rongen's selection for that tournament was disgraceful. Subotic and Davies would have easily been first choice players in that squad. Ah, now that does sense.
  12. He's been amazing this past year in his development. Couldn't make the U20 roster for the WC, made the Olympic team but barely played, now is a key figure/starter on the Senior team.
  13. Everton's backline has sucked, leaving Howard no chance so far. Arsenal hang up 3 in the 1st half.
  14. Clint with an early assist for Fulham who are up one.
  15. Adebayor scores in the 3rd minute for City.
  16. sob, I didn't even check this morning. I see Jozy was not even on the sub sheet. Fulham are starting their match now.
  17. Lee with 10 rbi's in 4 innings  I only count 7 Box score on espn showed 10, but also only had the Cubs with 15 after 4 innings.
  18. Didn't Barrett have something like this too?
  19. My directv guide is still not showing the Hull City/ Chelsea game tomorrow on ESPN2, is anyone else seeing the game on tv? Nevermind, I just found that the deal has yet to be finalized. #$&*%*$#(@*$% :banghead:
  20. I really like Choice, I'm torn on all 3 rb's and who should see playing time when.
  21. Romario making a little comeback. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=667380&sec=global&cc=5901
  22. Has Fifa ever even looked into the crowds at Mexico, its kind of stupid but considering everything they seem to do over in Europe unless thats more Uefa?
  23. Whenever he gets healthy. I'm thinking look for him during the October call ups. Damn was hoping for Sept 5th and 9th.
  24. Thats a great quote by Howard.
