  1. Probably against IU Oddly enough, their last game over 80 points was against Indiana. They scored over 80 three times last year, but the last one was against Indiana in which they scored exactly 83 pts.
  2. Great point. If there were good viable options, at least promote it. I am not aware of one option at QB that would help out the Bears next year. Sure, they could of drafted a QB early, but does that help them next year? Does it even help them the year after? Probably not. Bears picked up two QB's after the draft that were projected out as 5th round. With these guys, plus the guys they have on roster, they have enough guys to try and "develop".
  3. I wouldn't be surprised if Flowers shut down Curry, but I wouldn't count on it. Its probably not in the Badgers game play to shut him down. Rather, they'll focus on containing him and shutting down everyone else around him. Curry going off for 30 means nothing if they shut down everyone around him.
  4. Does Wisconsin have a perimeter defensive ace or two? Yes indeed, Michael Flowers is one of the best defenders in the nation. He'll still have his hands full with Curry. But I'm more worried about ensuring no one else on their team goes off.
  5. Go Badgers! Wisconsin v. Davidson, should be an interesting match up. I was actually looking forward to Georgetown, thought that Badgers matched up well with them. Badgers could have some size advantages in this game, so hopefully they take advantage of that.
  6. I'd say Wisconsin has difficulty with specific systems rather than talent levels. Teams that typically play up-tempo offense and/or pressure defense have presented problems to them. Beasley and Walker are outstanding talents, and if you're talking one on one, I'm not sure if the Badgers have anyone to stay in front of those guys. But this is team defense and Badgers have one of the defenses in the nation. The key for KSU is keeping Beasley on the floor. I hear he's foul prone and Wisconsin is great at getting calls. For Wisconsin, you won't see zones against Beasley. They'll let him get 30 and 20. Its just containing everyone else that will be important.
  7. As usual? Wisconsin might not be built for a national title, but they've proved to be talented enough to get to the final four, elite eight or sweet sixteen. Arguably, Wisconsin has been one of the best, if not the best, Big Ten team over the last 5 or so years. Haha, the best? I assume you've forgotten the Illinois runner-up team? Key words "one of the best" and "over the last 5 years". Illinois was great that season, but I'm talking over time, not one season.

  9. Thanks all for the replies. Per the first post, yes, financials do come into a play a bit. Beckett is a bit pricier ($21, $260 per team) but still a good value for a top 5 fantasy pitcher. The players offered are all under $5. My team is not that good, so I'm very open to trading a top tier player like Beckett for solid quantity. Especially players with an upside (e.g., Buckholz). So I'm considering this trade on two levels: (1) I'm concerned this initial injury for Beckett is a start of an injury plagued season. (2) I need cheap, good talent so I can go into this years auction with some cash to fill out a roster that currently stinks. I'm leaning towards doing the trade, but I'm going to see if I can yank other players from him first.
  10. In a 12 team keeper auction league. Unfortunately my team sucks this year, but I do have a couple keepers, one of those keepers being Josh Beckett. I always worry about Beckett's injuries and I recently was offered a trade. Beckett for Willingham, Ankiel, O. Cabrera, Buckholz, Blanton The reason he's offer 5 players is because we can only keep 12 players per season. He has a slew of keepers and is unloading guy that may be in the auction. Any thoughts?
  11. Wisconsin got a commit from Diamond Taylor, a top Illinois player in the 2009 class. From the scouting reports I read, sounds like a good player. Anyone know anything about him? As for the short term, Wisconsin better not lay an egg tomorrow. I hate playing @ Northwestern. In football and basketball, the Wildcats always seem to have the Badgers number.
  12. Great start by MSU. Indiana really looks lost, lots of weird mistakes (e.g., blown open layups/dunks). Now only if MSU can hold on and Purdue loses somehow.
  13. Wow - awesome victory for Wisconsin!! They certainly have the Big Ten in their hands now. They have MSU and PSU at home. Then @ Northwestern.
  14. Well that shows that good teams and good coaching will beat out better talent at times. Wisconsin does recruit high calibur players. They don't get 5 star recruits like Gordon, but they consistently plug in 4 star and 3 star recruits. Plus, the whole "star" thing is not an exact science. Guys like Devin Harris and Alando Tucker were not highly sought after.
  15. I can't see any Big Ten team really separating themselves to the point where they are no doubt the best team in the conference. Some teams have some exceptional talent, but from top to bottom, the top 4-5 teams in the Big Ten are pretty balanced in terms of talent and can play at similar performance levels. Purdue is playing the best basketball in the Big 10, and has a great chance to win the conference. Now come tourney time, I could easily see an MSU, IU or Wisconsin excelling more than Purdue.
  16. Purdue has a really nice young team. Their next couple games (@Wisc, MSU) may determine how successful they will be in the Big 10 this season.
  17. I'm not sure there is anything wrong with the Big 10 this year. It was pretty evident from seasons start that there were a handful of teams with similar talent/performance levels. There was no obvious clear cut elite team. Couple that with the difficulty of winning on the road in the Big 10, I fully expect to see continued movement at the top.
  18. Wisconsin has offers out to Taylor and Cooley. They've shown some interest in Prosser. I'd really like them to get Taylor.
  19. Great win for Wisconsin. Great team defense and awesome efforts by Hughes and Krabbenhoft. Gordon looked limited at times with his injury, but I'm not sure the outcome would of been much different if he was healthy. Badgers really limited his shot selection. Obviously I expect a much different Gordon in Indiana.
  20. Badgers beat Iowa 64-51, Butch had a nice 22 and 7 game. He's really stepped up this year.
  21. Wow!!! What a win and without Trevon Hughes.
  22. I'm looking forward to the Wisconsin-Tenn matchup. Wisconsin's D isn't anything special but they have played pretty well since the Illinois loss. And I wouldn't expect a heavy dose of PJ Hill. PJ was hurt down the stretch this year, which gave Zach Brown and Lance Smith a lot of opportunities. They both made great use of that time, so I fully expect a balanced load between all three backs.
  23. Duke v. Wisconsin tomorrow night. Should be an interesting matchup. Its at Duke, so I fully expect Duke to win. However, I think the Badgers will make it a good fight. Badgers have great size and I've been impressed with their guard play.
  24. He's been OKAY to date. Of the four game played he's looked really good in one and was basically a non-factor in the others. The Badgers are still finding their guard rotation, right now he appears to be the fourth guard. Flowers, Hughes and Krabbenhoft appear to be gaining most of the minutes. Obviously Bohannon will come in for some offensive punch.
