  1. Wisconsin wins by 20 over PSU today. A victory is not a huge surprise against PSU, but 48 second half pts with virtually nothing from Tucker in the game was pretty nice to see. Butch had a great game with 23 and 12. Its nice to see this young Badger team respond to bad play of late with two solid games back to back.
  2. Working the refs and being a crybaby are too different things. Bo isn't a crybaby, but he certainly gets animated when working the refs in game. He never cries about the calls after the game.
  3. Illinois might be down nationally, but in the Big Ten they could do just fine. I always think of teams in respect of their competition, and the Big Ten could change a bunch next year. Off the top of my head, some key potential losses (not sure on all of them): Michigan: Horton, Brown, Abraham MSU: Ager, Davis. Trannon? Iowa: Horner, Brunner Indiana: Killingsworth (only year of elgibility?), OSU: Dials, Sylvester Losing Brown and Augustine will be huge, but it won't be the end of the world. A lot of teams will be losing key players and will be re-tooling with high tier talent. I don't see a reason why Illlinois cannot compete next year.
  4. Illinois is hitting Wisconsin at the right time. No Landry or Stiemsma. After the Michigan game, Taylor is Questionable and Flowers and Krabbenhoft are Day to Day.
  5. The case with ND State was more of case of Wisconsin beating themselves than a good game plan. Not to take credit away from ND State, they deserved to win, but their game plan wasn't unique. This approach has been used many times in the past, and off the top of my head its been used at least 3 other times in Wisconsin's non-conference schedule this season. As for Tucker, I'm not surprised you're seeing horrific shooting performances. He's surrounded by a very young cast and this is his first season in a true leadership role. At times he's been pressing. Additionally - that mask hasn't done him any favors at all, especially at the FT line. He'll get better as the team establishes more of an identity and he establishes his leadership role. Wisconsin rolled past PSU easily today. But the rest of their Big Ten season has gotten much harder as both Landry and Stiemsma are out of the season. What was once a bright spot, their front court depth, has now become a big issue.
  6. The same Schaeffer that went to UT. Great pick for Ole Miss! I'm really interested why he chose Ole Miss over Wisconsin and NC State. On paper, it would seem that he could acheive greater success at the other schools. But I'm sure location and immediate playing time came into play bigtime.
  7. By default, I think Badgers are the clear favorite right now. They're 4-0 and have a favorable schedule. However - I think its still a bit too early to be discussing favorites. They still need to win big games on the road, and this upcoming OSU game will be telling. If Krabbenhoft, Landry & Stiemsma continue to develop over the Big Ten season, this young Badger team can be REALLY good. Nice handle, Sweeptheleg. Are you a NWstern student? Thanks! No Mercy! :) Actually I'm a graduate of Wisconsin-Madison, but grew up in the Chicagoland area. I've always been a fan of Northwestern sports though. Except its getting harder to like their football team, they continue to beat Wisconsin!

  9. You have a point, the front 7 does make the secondary better. However, the secondary is a very talented group. Mike Brown has performed at a very high level since he's been in the league. Neither Tillman or Vasher are "shutdown" corners, but both have exceptional playmaking abilities. Chris Harris is a rookie that is still proving himself, but I've liked what I have seen so far. Tillman,Vasher, and Brown have illustrated their talent in prior seasons, outside of this years dominating defense. The week 11 was definitely a bright spot for the Bears defense, but its not like they went out and sacked opponents QB's 8 times every game. The Bears D doesn't blitz non stop, these DB's deserve much credit in regards to their cover and playmaking skills. I'm not sure if any single DB on the Bears is considered "great", but as a unit, they're one of the best in the league.
