  1. I predict Mr. Bynum will be one of the many skipping work to watch a game in the very near future. skipping work...hard to do that when you are outta work That's kinda my point.
  2. First off, I don't blame Eyre at all. He busted his arse off the mound and hustled, trying his best to make a miraculous play. Yes, it was a lousy pitch from the glove, but he made a great effort at a tough play. Furcal was definately out of the baserunners box. He did so many things wrong (running on the infield, looking at the play the whole way down, and not watching where he was) that it is hard to not blame him. Yet you still can't. That play was bang-bang, but it is part of baseball. It was simply a bad break - no pun intended. I wonder if Furcal should have been called out?

  4. Lee breaking his wrist was a freak accident, there is no need for Furcal to apologize. I seriously doubt he did it on purpose, and no one is to blame. Both guys were doing their jobs, and that is just the way it goes. Nobody on this board knows if Furcal didn't call him to see how he was doing. Just a freak accident, right?
  5. No kidding. We'll be fine without him, but if he can be solid we'll be just that much better. Talked about Prior having a great year back in 02, but later corrected himself with 03.
  6. These Padres announcers on XM are really Cub-ignorant.
  7. I always loved the way Asos would have his jersey tailored to have the sleaves have elastic inserted. WTF?
  8. I'd rather beat the pinetar out of a team who's manager gets so lubed up at .093 blood alcohol that he has to pull over for a power nap.
  9. Pathetic coverage. I used to LOVE Dibble. Kennedy kinda always sucked. But since Dibble has been hardcore defending the players over PED abuse, he has grown tiresome. Dibble seems to think the fans and media are out of line for suspecting drug use in players who suddenly have production spikes. Plus, they aren't even commenting on the game. Kennedy sounded pained to admit that the Cubs looked improved. Dibble pronounced Theriot's name as "the ree ott." It has just grown sad.
  10. That is easily a top 5 name.
  11. Yes, he does. I believe he swings bats that are 35 inches, and 33-35 ounces. That's the same size as Ryan Howard and Julio Franco. Gigantic sticks.
  12. I still don't feel completely sold on Soriano in the leadoff spot. I just think Soriano represents too much power and not a really good OB% to stick at the top. I guess he will be a dynamic type leadoff man, and know he will be in the pitchers head as a threat to steal, but I just like the high OB% guys (if you have them) at the top. Having said that, it is pretty much automatic that he will score at least 100 runs, regardless of his OB% - but he would not be the consistant scoring threat as a guy like Theriot (I really think he and Murton would easily be able to have at least .350 OB%). I think the Cubs have a real good chance to have a good defensive/offensive team with this lineup: 2B Theriot LF Murton 1B Lee 3B Ramirez RF Soriano CA Barrett CF Pie SS Izturis
  13. I would still love to see Theriot in the 1 or 2 spot in the lineup. Not going to happen, as Soriano ain't getting moved from that leadoff spot - and I don't think Theriot is even in Izturis' league defensively. I do wonder how good DeRosa would be at SS, with Theriot at 2B.
  14. Good choice. You won't be dissapointed. Well, I'm getting a free DVR, free HBO/Skinemax for 3 months, and $10 off a month for 10 months. The switch is just going to be weird because I am so used to the channels on Dish Network. Oh well. I am thinking about switching over from Dish Network as well. Did Dish Network charge you anything to uninstall? Well, after some thinking - I decided to postpone the installation of DirecTV and give Dish Network until the deadline to either pick up MLB EI, or lose me as a customer. Since I am not locked in to a contract with DirecTV until the installation is complete, I am giving Dish Network every opportunity to keep me. BTW, Dish Network never put me under contract.

  17. They're installing my DirecTV on Wednesday. I'm loyal like Cal Ripken, folks.
  18. Man, I remember a few years back when Sosa had the nail taken off his toe. OUCH! You have to give him a little respek for dat!
  19. Over the last two seasons, I have paid $120 and $150 for the MLB EI package. It's nice to see it getting jacked up to $200. I can't wait to see the immense improvements to the program that warrant that incredible raise in price. I'll still pay.
  20. Unless those are some really good prospects, the Braves aren't letting Salty go. They are extremely high on him. I'd like to see Harry tackle that last name backwards.
  21. I wish I could tell you guys some of the things that I have heard regarding how screwed up and unprofessional the White Sox brass is. I wish I could do it.
  22. If you are mad at DirecTV, then you are not realizing that this is MLB's work. Be mad at MLB and it's brass. I will be switching to DirecTV if DishNetwork doesn't drop the cash to get the package. I hate to do it, but that's how I roll. I want the EI package.
  23. It looks like DirecTV gets their way, but In Demand and Dish Network have the option to "match" the price that DirecTV is paying and carry the package. I'd really like to kick Tim Brosnan and Bud Selig right in the teeth. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/4613892.html
  24. They used to stay in that Marriot (may have changed names) right across the pond from the Ballpark.
