  1. Sent you a PM.
  2. Do you have any Maker's Mark? How about Basil Hayden's, Baker's, or Bookers? Sorry, I'm a whiskey snob. as far as bourbons go, woodford reserve is my fave. Woodford is quality stuff. Ever try Bulleit? That is a sleeper.
  3. Yeah, I don't think I watched a single Rangers game last season, except for the Opening Day game I went to in Arlington. Didn't watch FSSW too much, because I think they showed the Astros nearly exclusively. Am I wrong? Did get to see some of the Rangers/A's game the other night, though. Naturally, I have a slight interest in them this year with Sammy on the team as well as McCarthy. Plus, I'm a Loften fan and like their lineup.

  5. He kinda looked like he stumbled out of the box, if you ask me.
  6. I really don't think that Lou called for Cedeno to go on that SB attempt/H&R attempt. Just judging by Lou's reaction on the bench. Maybe he was p'd that Soriano swung and missed? dunno. Another little note, watched the game with my buddy who played with Theriot at LSU, and he was telling me that Ryan used to touch 90 on the gun. Interesting - didn't know his arm was that strong. He also thinks that Ryan would be a great SS (Theriot was a good SS in college).
  7. I seriously hope someone has a "Hey Tony, need a cab?" sign when the Cards come to town. Make it happen my Chicago brethren.
  8. ...made all the plays in LF, but jeez - he almost fell over doing it. I guess we can blame it on the wind. I still love that kid.
  9. The best part of Lou's visit was that Dempster delivered the next pitch before Lou even reached the dugout steps. He definately lit a fire under his touchous. Another note, Lilly had the no-hitter going, then when the inning ended they showed some commercial with a freaking GOAT eating copy paper or something. First batter gets a hit.
  10. Last night there were only 2 games on late, Rangers/Angels and A's/Mariners - both on the West Coast. I turned on my TV and ........ nothing. Black screen. The MLB MIX channel showed the A's playing, and the Rangers game had a note saying it may be on a local channel (FSSW). Both were black screens. So naturally, I call DirecTV (since I am paying for ALL the games with the MLB EI package). The lady first told me that the games were "Blacked Out" - now I have come to understand that games are blacked out when the ballpark is within a certain vicinity of your home. California is not really jogging distance from NW Louisiana. Or I am just not in Terry Fox shape. I then was instructed to push the reset button, and everything was hunky-dory. Whatever that means.
  11. That's solid - not to "one-up" you on your own thread, but my 3.5 year old daughter can sing "Go Cubs Go." Imma find out how to get that on Youtube.
  12. You have to get them all. It's $12 more a month. I haven't yet gotten them, but I think about it all the time. I think I may do that, at least for the baseball season - then drop it. Isn't it freaking refreshing to be back in the season again?
  13. I'm really liking this whole DirecTV thingy too. The MIX is awesome, as you all said. I wonder if you can purchase the Fox Sports channels seperately? Do you have to get the whole deal? I'd LOVE to have CSNC and watch all the Chicago goodies before and after games.
  14. Obviously, it isn't enough money because they can't seem to understand that with this MLB Extra Innings bs, they are ONCE AGAIN sticking it in the keister of all us little people who love the game enough to load their wallets. Like I have said time and time again, Bud Selig and his croanies are hypocritical criminals.
  15. That's what you get for having a Neifitar. I hate losing my lucky hat.
  16. i bought one of those, i really like it I'm selling them on eBay for $64.99 plus $9.50 shipping. I've sold quite a few and everyone seems to like them. BTW, I'd give anyone here at NSBB $5 off on one at my site. (I'll even do that for those of you that are fans of another team as well. I carry all teams.) http://hobbyboxsports.com/Maj2BP_ChC6800Nav.aspx Just ordered one from you, brah! I didn't see a size on the order though. Hey, how quick can you get it to me? I am leaving for Chicago on Sunday, and would love to wear my new jersey to the game. Is the sizing S, M, L, XL, XXL - or 44, 48, etc? I want an XXL or 52. Tell me the easiest way to connect that with my order. g
  17. I loved those uniforms. You will own that jersey (no #s or name) on 6/19, my freen.
  18. I'm not a fan of the solid grays. Mark me down as not happy about dropping the blue jerseys. I was always hoping the Cubs would make their road unis the blue tops, gray bottoms.
  19. I plan to as soon as I get up to Chicago next week, if they are out in stores. I did get one of those new BP hats that they have been wearing this Spring, and I like it a lot. Love the wick-stuff.
  20. I agree. That would be WAY too much to give up for Ichiro, who would be a Free Agent after the season. Would not be surprised if the Cubs gave up Murton for him, though. Still, that would be too much unless they could get him for 3-4 years.
  21. OK, I got DirecTV last week, and notice that we actually have the Fox Sports channels for the areas (Fox Sports Chicago, Detroit, etc...). On Dish Network, the EI package simply showed the games, and cut off after each game became final. With DirecTV, do we get the channel around the clock? Do we get to see pre and post game interviews, etc? That would be awesome. I have also noticed that with DirecTV, when there is a dark background on the channel, it is very digitalized. Maybe that is just my TV, but I didn't have that problem with Dish Network.
  22. I saw one at bat last night for Cedeno (against Seattle), and I was totally impressed. He worked the count full and smoked one to the CFer. That alone impressed me enough to realize that this kid got messed up pretty good last year, and he indeed has potential to be a great ballplayer. I hope he gets a chance and shines.
  23. I didn't read the whole long thread so I don't know if someone mentioned this. But didn't they say that Soriano would have just as hard a time playing RF as CF at Wrigley? Sure, each OF position is different in it's own way - but here is the situation: Pie is going to be the better man for CF when he comes up, and Soriano is going to have to shift over and learn another OF position. All the while, Jones could have filled in CF while Soriano learned RF - but now Soriano is going to have to figure out RF, and probably OJT style this season. I'm sure I could be wrong, but this seems the most likely scenario.
  24. I totally agree with what you say. I have also been a very happy Dish Network customer for the past 6 years (almost) and I hated to do it - but I cancelled my plan and DirecTV was installed yesterday. I have purchased the MLB EI package for the past 2 years, and I want it that bad. Unfortunately, I am on a 2 year contract with DirecTV now, but I will go back to Dish Network when it is up, and if they have the EI package. I can't blame DirecTV, Dish Network, or anyone except MLB. There is NO DOUBT in my mind that the brass in MLB have no regard for the fans of the game, the very people who make them rich. I blame all of this on MLB greed. Thank you Mr. Selig and crew for being selfish P.O.S. Once again, you goons have done the fans a major disservice.
  25. I take back what I said earlier. After reading what Prior said in the article, to me it sounded like he was meaning that he was just another guy in the system who has to earn his way on the team. Just another employee. I guess that is giving him the benefit of the doubt. Didn't watch the interview, and may have a different opinion after that. I hope he lights AAA up and comes back strong.
