  1. That's a harsh criticism. Yes it is....and so is grouping Blanco with Miles....Neifi and maybe the Gremlin r the only ones Miles caliber
  2. Who? Carroll or Fox? Fox. He has a bit of a reputation of being a jerk and some people think he's uncoachable because of it. Actually I have been to spring training the last 8 years and I have to say outside of Juan Pierre, he is by far the most friendly and humble person and first one to sign autographs every single day Others that seemed like very nice people are Dempster, Wood, Jacque Jones, Marshall, Dusty Baker Biggest pr*ck ive seen since ive been going is matt murton Haha I always knew Matt Murton was a douche Who else? I like hearing what players are a-holes He sure was....im thinkin like 4 years ago maybe, we saw Murton get on and off the bus 10+ times the week and a half we were there and he signed one autograph....and Dusty got him off the bus and made him sign it It was a little boy in a wheelchair with a t-shirt on that said "murton is the best" or "murton is my favorite" or something like that and he was right next to the door of the bus begging for his autograph and Murton just walked right past him(meanwhile 15+ players were signing multiple autographs at this time and this time everyday)....finally about 10 mins later Dusty came out and everyone was b*tching about Murton really loud and yelling "bench his a**, hes an a**hole" and Dusty went and got him off the bus and made him sign the kids autograph and he still didnt say a hi or nothin to the kid, just put his head down and signed real fast and got back on and people were letting him have it noone else really stands out....Prior, Cedeno, Todd Walker werent ever friendly but werent pr*icks either, just standoff-ish Zambrano, Eyre, and Nomar are also guys that go out of their way to interact with the fans and sign autographs

  4. Blubber boy behind the plate helped too. That's twice we've lost in extras this road trip because he couldb't block a ball in the dirt absolutely....and Lou is afraid to put Fox at 3rd???? Soto has been brutal behind the plate all year IMO
  5. Brutal....and Soto needs a bigger catchers mitt too because he sucks behind the plate
  6. None.....and that Theriot routine play he threw in the dirt was also a big one in gettin the Braves going
  7. He hasn't too much, but got lazy and wasn't even in position to block that pitch..... and he called it so its not like he didn't know it was coming Lots of fingers to point in this game I guess....just a frustrating loss
  8. umm, when you give up a game tying home run with 2 outs in the 9th to a terrible hitter on literally the only pitch he can handle, then yea, it's your fault as much as anybody's Umm, if Mr. Overweight blocks strike 3, Franceour doesn't even get an AB, much less with a guy on base
  9. This game was just 1 of 3 that Gregg has crapped on already this year. When you factor in that he throws a minimum of 25 pitches per appearance because he gets behind in the count to everyone, it makes him very hard to like or even watch. Whether you like him or he's hard to watch or whatever, he had to get 4 outs in the 9th because Soto didn't block strike 3 and it cost them 2 runs.....I know blaming the closer is the cool thing to do, but if you blame this loss entirely on Kevin Gregg you don't know much about baseball or didn't watch the game I'm certainly not letting anyone else off the hook or blaming Gregg entirely, but this kind of performance has been more common from him than Soto so far. Really? I haven't seen anything positive from Soto all year....Gregg and Marmol have both walked way to many guys and pitched terrible at times, but Soto has been nothing short of terrible all year....If someone is getting replaced right now it should be Soto over anyone on the team

  11. Yes, the pitch was in a terrible location, but if you give major league teams extra outs it burns you more often than not Soto has to block that pitch 100 times out of 100, he got lazy on it plain and simple....If he blocks it, we win Never mind Marmol and his idiocy in the 8th and Theriot starting the 8th with a routine throw in the dirt.....the pitch was bad, but Kevin Gregg did not cost us this game
  12. Did anyone just here Lou's pregame comments?? Said only thing left to change is to move Soriano to 2B and Hoff to LF....said he didn't want to have to make that move but if it keeps going like this he'll have no choice
  13. The Indians would be thrilled to trade us Wood and his contract for Gregg and his contract right now
  14. I'm guessing Milton was handed his suspension today???
  15. any word on whether or not MLB made a decision on Bradley's suspension today? heard it was going to be today or tomorrow
  16. I'm under the impression that Hill v. Bako is still up for grabs and I don't see where it says Hoff is the last roster spot...sounds like hes the primary guy off the bench....I think Fox v. Gathright is still ongoing for the last spot on the 25 man....And if Gathright is the guy, I don't think it'll be long before Fox is called up if he keeps playing 3B well and keeps hitting at AAA
  17. Minor League deal with ST invite maybe this is the "buddy" they are looking for, for Kosuke.....because we all know that all Asians get along..... http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3836941
  18. Reverse Catcher.....without a doubt
  19. Maybe in some stadiums....Wrigley will be full almost every day
  20. The curveball is thrown with the middle finger and thumb on the seams with the pressure on the middle finger, and it is thrown with the wrist cocked and you basically pull it down like a lamp shade A slider is thrown with the fore finger and the thumb on the seams with the pressure on the fore finger, and it is thrown just like a fastball until the last second and you turn ur wrist like a lamp shade releasing the ball as far from ur body as possible A good slider and a good curve should both break about 12-6 but the curve should break earlier and longer while the slider should have late tight break hope that helps....and your not the only one that doesnt know....many announcers on national tv have no idea
  21. The song that will always be assoiciated with the Cubs run this year will be "Go Cubs Go" because now it has got such national attention.....we can argue about other songs all day,but like the Cubs its going to be old school
  22. i understand what your saying and you could twist things any way you want for instance...shark has pitched fairly well but has not really looked comfortable out there so he wants to use him as much as possible so that he gets more comfortable rather than putting in eyre who lou wouldnt trust with a 10 run lead and is just taking up a roster spot i understand second guessing a manager is part of what the fans and that east coast television station do, but something so petty that had no real significance on the outcome of the game is silly....what if he brought eyre in and he had to end up using marmol to close it? i am not trying to bash you guys, just saying the move was not worthy of having an immediate post after a great win questioning the manager....if he wouldve brought eyre in and we wouldve lost, then it wouldve been worthy
  23. just saying it really does not matter....why people continue to question Lou is beyond me. His moves will not work out everytime but in his first 2 years here they have worked out a lot more times than not Lets celebrate the victory not dwell on petty intricacies
  24. because the manager of the year and of the best team in the N.L. thought it was a good idea why question?
