  1. I think he was born to be a closer at the major league level, he just needs to proove he belongs there.
  2. from what i have read today he is projected to be a .290-.310 hitter with 35-40 homer power Yeah, maybe if you total up two seasons. i've seen him play every day and he has 40 homerun power. i don't care what stats you use. And he has a great eye at the plate. I think it was a great pick and I just cant wait to see what he can do this year.
  3. something tells me aardsma is not going to get paid very much next time around.
  4. lmao, now thats good.
  5. Hardman's stats: AVG GP-GS AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI TB SLG% BB HBP SO GDP OB% SF SH SB-ATT PO A E FLD% .339 61-60 227 42 77 14 3 11 43 130 .573 22 2 58 1 .399 2 2 9-14 448 47 5 .990 another good pick. tore the cover off of the ball all year.
  6. He had a very bad outing against Missouri in their regional. He has been hurt almost all year as well.
  7. 3b for Clemson. He's batting 3rd for Clemson against Miss State on ESPN right now if you want to see him. He can hit. very good raw power.
  8. I love the Wright, and Smith picks because they are college guys who play against very good competition. I like the fact that we got some college guys this year as well. both can hit very well especially wright, but smith has a lot of pop in his bat, neither with a lot of plate dicipline, but really know how to hit.
  9. Smith's stats: AVG GP-GS AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI TB SLG% BB HBP SO GDP OB% SF SH SB-ATT PO A E FLD% .329 62-62 243 51 80 13 2 13 56 136 .560 29 5 46 1 .410 1 4 6-10 27 111 12 .920 He has some pop in his bat, I like the pick.
  10. That whole OSU lineup was loaded this year. That's the fourth Cowboy hitter chosen, if I remember correctly. Mangini, Brown, Mach and now Wright. he is interesting. only 18 walks in 202 AB's, but only 23 K's. So basically he hits the ball everytime he comes up to bat, its just a question if he makes an out or not.
  11. Ty's Stats: AVG GP-GS AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI TB SLG% BB HBP SO GDP OB% SF SH SB .411 50-49 202 52 83 14 3 6 40 121 .599 18 6 23 3 .465 4 2 5 Looks like the kid can hit a little!
  12. Cubs take Ty Wright-OF Oklahoma State in the 7th round.
  13. Really???? I don't see why. He should be ready for Boise this season and peoria next. We'll see. He'll be ready for Peoria even if he spends all of this summer at Mesa. I bet if he signs quickly, and Lansford gets a July promotion that Vitters finishs the 2007 season in Peoria....just a thought... If he's hitting well enough to justify that move, it would be great. But I'm just hoping he hits well enough to justify a spot in Peoria all next year. I don't want to see any Ryan Harvey type, low average, 4:1 K:BB ratio with OPS being propped up by some power, and doing it in short season ball a year after being drafted. I dont think his hitting will be a problem, if you should be worried about anything it should be his defense. I am also anxious to see what Tony Thomas will do in Boise!
  14. http://www.dailysouthtown.com/sports/419293,081SPT5.article humm..... Bonds mixed with Guerrero mix would be nice :)
  15. Could not drafting any pitchers be due to the fact we signed Suarez from over seas, combined with a few of the high school pitchers we took last year and in years past? I like the dirrection Wilken is going but 1 pitcher in the first 4 picks would have been nice.
  16. Donaldson has major league starter potential too, without a doubt. He might have issues with his swing but those sound readily-fixable and don't make him too much of a project. I heard he struggles calling a real good game, which really concerns me if he is a true catcher. Fixing a swing is harder then it seems, that can take a lot of time. And he does not throw very accurately, and has trouble with his foot work behind the plate. I over all hate his pick. If he sticks at catcher I think he has no chance with his lack of defensive skills, at another position maybe he could have a little big league potential, but what position??? Third? First? Snipped out the offensive portion of the scouting report: He threw out 38.7% of base runners. I think there's hope defensively for him. I am still not sold I think there were better players we could have picked. I dont like him as a catcher, maybe at first, but his foot work problems, and a decent arm, combined with the fact he does not call a very good game make me not like this pick.
  17. The Cardianls will almost certainly draft chris Carpenter.........

  19. Here are my thoughts on the draft: I like The Vitters pick a lot! and the thomas kid who looks like he can flat out hit, and in the ACC which is a big plus! Those two picks are great ones! Everything else I think we are going to have to take Wilkin's word on. The second round choice is very questionable. the 4th and 5th round picks the same with some High School Arms on the board, we go for some College bats who don't look all the impressive. Oh well I guess its a push overall. Vitters and Thomas have the potential to be Major League players, everyone else is kind of a project.
  20. Really???? I don't see why. He should be ready for Boise this season and peoria next. It all depends, as always. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a look late in the season at Boise, though. I think he should tear up AZL play. I would hope Boise before the year ends, and peoria next year.
  21. Go with Miller for a few reasons. 1) He has Been up before, its not his very first time unlike Bailey 2) Miller is playing for a good team that is going to give him some run support, Bailey is not.
  22. Are they going into the 6th round today? I didnt think they were.
  23. Well it seems to be real, but it's just club baseball. So saying they dont have a baseball team would be false.
