  1. I think the refresh button on my computer is broken, so I better hear something soon!
  2. http://www.thnt.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070725/SPORTS01/707250384 good for him. i hope he does well.
  3. What an easy lineup to predict: Sorriano-LF Theriot-SS Rameriz-3b Derosa-1b jones-CF Pegan-RF Kendal-C Fonteniot-2B
  4. I was going to guess Terry Moholand in 98'
  5. What's the point of calling him up to play the OF when we have Murton red hot in Iowa?? this move makes no sence.
  6. any chance that by the end of the month our bullpen will look something like this: Dempster Guzman Howry Marmol Wuertz Wood Ohman ?
  7. wow thats quite a jump! any one have a report on him, and how he projects down the road?
  8. I hear the term "quality start" used a lot. Is this calculated a certain way? or just an opinion of the official score?
  9. its the last game before the brake. I saw in an article that he would start the FIRST game after the brake though. I'm confused........
  10. chesnuts a beast.
  11. Molina wouldn't be bad. I'm not a big fan of his, but he is very Barrett-esque except with a lot more contact. Unfortunately, Molina is signed through 09 so we probably couldnt take on the future liability. Plus, hes 32. Vizquel I would worry about. Hes 40 and sucking offensively. Even when hes not sucking hes probably around a 700 OPS. I don't think hes really an upgrade over Theriot. And I'm not a big fan of Theriot. Its hard to see that either of these guys would be that significantly better than what we currently have or what Cedeno/Soto could give us. I would be all for Molina, vizquel not so much. bring up ronny, trade for molina, griffy, and another lefty in the pen.
  12. Sounds like most of the teams with top picks are waiting for one of the top picks to sign so they can work around those dollar figures. when is the new deadline for the picks to sign?
  13. they should call him up now to see what he can do lol.
  14. He's at 92-94 mph, which is a big spike from last season. He could be in the fold of things NEXT year, not this year. I would expect him to be in Iowa before too long now, as for his velocity, I have seen reports of him sitting at 90 and topping out at 92.
  15. Today's bullpen by committe: eyre- mop-up Ohman- lefty spec. petrick- Long man/ extra innings Wuertz- Setup Howry- Closer Marmol- N/a /emergency (2 innings yesterday)
  16. What trade can the cubs make that wil improve the team? (obviously trade/DFA Jones, Izzy, eyre) I think we need another Big Bat, and another lefty in the pen with the ineffectiveness of eyre. I like Griffy and Dunn, but if we cant take on salary those moves seem very unlikely. any thoughts?
  17. not a very crediable source if you ask me......
  18. Thats what I have heard too. He has been very good. I would like to get a report on him, but how many people attend DSL games?
  19. WElcome to your new roll scott eyre! Your offense gets a 4 run lead, and you come in in a non pressure situation and be lights out...........
  20. He is one of the guys in the lower minors I am going to keep an eye on consistantly. I heard he has great potential. the sky could be the limit for him......
  21. If that is so wtf took them so long to make this move? yea but could he control it with a few off-speed pitches?
