  1. My last post on this topic... Cedeno's poor defense >>>>>>> Cedeno good bat That's all I'm trying to say.
  2. I thought I'd always heard he was a good defender? I haven't seen anything close to that at this level.
  3. I thought I'd always heard he was a good defender? nm -- odd double post
  4. Compared to who? Theriot doesn't get to that ball and two runs score either way. I didn't say that Theriot would have gotten to that ball, but if he did, I doubt it ends up in the stands. But he wouldn't have, so it's moot. I'm not the one who brought up Theriot. Good stops fantastic, but if you throw it into the stands or into the dugout, it's a waste. For the last time...Theriot doesn't even get to the ball in the first place, and the runs still score. One run would have scored, but you assume that the second run was a given. Soriano could have thrown him out... Are you actually trying to argue that because Theriot has less range that he would have been better to have out there at Short? Not at all......I'm trying to argue that Cedeno plays terrible defense, and always has at this level. In fact, as good as his bat is, and as critical as defense is at short, his bat doesn't make up for his defense.
  5. Theriot would have had a hit there Just kidding....

HE COULD HAVE HELD ONTO THE BALL. Theriot isn't part of the question.

  10. Exactly my issue with Cedeno....the bat doesn't make up for the defensive lapses.
  11. Theriot is the brightest example of Cubs management incompetence. He's a horrible SS, whom, 2 years ago, people were wondering if he had enough to be a competent utility man, and now he's the everyday leadoff man. He fills the position that most needed replacement going into the season, and management did nothing. Pitchers are just going to throw him strike after strike because he's not a threat to do anything with most pitches. Through no fault of his own, he's the current symbol for all that has ailed the Cubs of the Andy/Hendry ERA. What other options were there? Cedeno?
  12. Is the regular WGN broadcast not in HD? If not, WGN would still be the easy choice for me. Unfortunately, I don't get WGNHD yet. It should be here in about six weeks... If it's a blackout on ESPN2, that'd make my decision a lot easier. I haven't checked yet. I just posted a topic on this in Social. Neither DishNetwork nor DirecTV have WGNHD. I didn't look into DirecTV but DishNetwork has vaguely said that it should be available in 2008.

  15. I'm certainly NOT a minor league expert by any means. BaseballAmerica publishes it's top 100 list every year and the 2008 version is linked below. No subscription needed. I hope this helps. http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/prospects/rankings/top-100-prospects/2008/265655.html
