  1. I must have missed these comments. What did he say? In an interview on the field after winning: "I'm not good enough to play for the Chicago Cubs but I'm sure good enough to play for the World Champs" This after the Cubs made him a contract offer and he chose to play for the DBacks.
  2. I still can't forgive him for the classless comments he made after he (and the DBacks) won the World Series. So it's possible that I was listening and only picking up the comments he made that were stupid or bad. But having said that, he's terrible. (after a pitch is thrown in the dirt) "He's gonna have to get that pitch over the plate." (In the 5th inning with a 4 run lead) "This game is far from over." I can go on, but like I said earlier, I was probably listening and being overly critical.
  3. I can't get enough of this.
  4. w o w It's just the begining
  5. It's you
  6. Yeah, that's pretty much why I enjoyed it too. Speaking of that, I picked up John Schuerholz's (sp?) book a couple weeks ago... has anyone read that? How is it? Moneyball was fascinating to me and was my first real intro into statistical player evaluation. Although the book puts Beane on a bit of a pedestal, it's worth the reading for any baseball fan. I've also read Scheurholtz's book which I found a little disappointing. I liked the inside details of the Glavine negotiations and the information about Chipper and Andrew Jones. He hates Deion Sanders. But overall it was more of a "biography" than I was expecting (probably my fault). A decent read but not that great.
  7. Congrats! It's pretty great. My boy is just about two months old. There are some downsides, of course, but it's definitely worth it. My mom already bought him a little Lee jersey T. I brought him home in a Cubs onesie... he was swimming in it, but I had to get him started early. The bad thing is all our kids are gonna think that the Cubs are always this good. I pray to God my future kids grow up thinking the Cubs were always 'this good'. +1 I hope my kid never knows the kind of suffering I put up with as a kid with this team. + (where's the infinity key?)

  9. Health Winning on the road Brewers won't go away
  10. 125 is too many for a guy that has had shoulder problems already this year, but I'm sure that the pen being short 1 man has something to do with this, and it's a cool night. Not making an excuse but I can see the logic.
  11. Marmol looked terrible. His slider is flat and it seems like as soon as someone gets on base he loses it. He's fallen apart so many times I don't remember good Carlos. I sincerely hope he gets it back after the break.
  12. Do these pants make my butt look fat?
  13. I like toast.
  14. Raw, I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or just happy that he's on your fantasy team.
  15. I just noticed........ Uribe is one letter short of urine Just sayin......
  16. The only thing I will say about the Sox is that I agree with you -- they're pretty good. They do like to smack talk though, which is sad. I guess the classness behavior filters down all the way from the GM, down through the manager, and to the players. +eleventy
  17. Impressions of the haul thus far (for a guy stuck at work arguing all day)?
  18. It's fantastic. Highly recommend it.
  19. The Yankees don't play their best SS at SS either. You wanna argue with all their rings? Neither Cedeno nor Theriot are good shortstops. Theriot has no range and Cedeno can't throw it to a 6-4 firstbaseman. Being error-prone is more frustrating than having no range or arm, but the latter will cost you more in the long run. Neither are good options IMO. But if I had to pick my poison, I'd take Theriot.

  21. Huh? You don't notice anything wrong with it? Soapdropping? Never heard that before Just sayin No need to spaz
