That's why I love going to baseball practice. The sound of the ball when it goes through the air, when it hits the glove,... is soothing for some reason. I also love the sound of the ball being hit. When I'm at bat, I can hear when I make good contact. Yeah and best of all what you feel when you make good contact ... or actually what you don't feel, which is torque. Physics geekspeak for hitting the ball on the screws: ball hits the center of percussion of the bat (sweet spot), where no reaction torque is tranferred back to the hands. I love that as well as the sound that is created. The "whack!" sound of a wooden bat is cool enough, but the "PING!" of metal bats in college is awesome.
