  1. Wolf's a Blues fan. I think Kujay might come after you if you called him a Blues fan. Yeah, not really. I started going to Blues games the year after the lockout when both the Blues and the Hawks sucked ass, because I just love going to hockey games so much. I have been to anywhere between 10-20 Blues games the last few seasons. So I started to root for them, and I still do except when they play the Hawks or their interests conflict with the Hawks. And their run this year has been a great story. People here think it's odd, like a Cubs-Cards thing (I would never, ever root for the Cards, by the way). But they don't understand that when I was a kid up north, the Wings and Leafs were the Hawks' rivals in my mind, not St. Louis. All that said, I'm really looking forward to seeing the Blues game tonight. Although my crappy hotel in central IL doesn't have Versus, they do have FS Midwest. So I think I'll be able to watch.
  2. That never gets old. It's not possible for the UC to get as loud as the Stadium did, but these next few weeks are probably the closest we'll get so far.
  3. Appears it might be that pesky oblique again: http://www.stltoday.com/blogzone/commishs-hot-stove/commishs-hot-stove/cardinal-beat-updates/2009/04/chris-carpenter-looks-like-hell-be-out-for-awhile-la-russa-says/ Cards have absolutely no depth of SPs in AAA. But when Todd Wellemeyer and Joel Pineiro are tearing it up for you, it really doesn't matter who you through out there.
  4. I can't tell if this is saying I can't watch game 2, or if it's saying I can't watch the Versus games on CSN, but can watch game 2 on CSN. It appears to say that if you have Center Ice, you'll get to watch any Hawks games on CSN that ARE NOT on Versus or NBC. So Center Ice fills in the gaps, and they would likely do so with the CSN feed (or perhaps both). I knew that CI carried the first two rounds of the playoffs in this way -- they just make sure you have a chance to see all the games that aren't on national TV. Okay, but isn't center ice just taking the CSN-Chicago feed? That seemed like a confusing reply. At first I thought it was saying I could not see game 2, but then I started to see it the way you explained. Yes, CI would take the regional feeds. So if you're not in the Chicago market and don't have Center Ice, you are SOL for games that aren't on Vs. or NBC. Let's get these games going already! I'm traveling and it figures, my hotel doesn't have Vs. They have 70 other channels, but not that one. So I'll miss the games tomorrow night, but I'll be hustling home Thursday afternoon.

  6. Frank Thomas. And speaking of *ducks* Ryne Sandberg -- grade-A prick when I met him and his attitude as a minor league coach smacks of douche.
  7. I'm starting to feel like I'm at Cards Talk.
  8. The Directv guide has CSN showing the Sox Thursday night, so it would have be a CSN+ channel. DTV does carry an extra CSN sometimes, so it's a possibility. Not a big deal, but it would be great to listen to Pat and Eddie and get to see/hear the anthem. CSN's website says white sox pregame and game are on CSN+, and blackhawks pregame, game and postgame are on regular CSN. Excellent.

  10. And it will be on CSN. My concern is, will I be able to watch it? Do they black out out of market playoff games on regional networks? Will they throw in on NHL network as well? I'm very curious about this too, especially for Thursday night. Thursday's game is on Versus. And not on CSN as well? I would much prefer to watch on CSN if I can.

    Golf

I need to remember the bad shots more often though so I don't repeat them as often as I unfortunately do. Tiger banging that shot off the tree looked all too familiar. I try to think of it as the routine. When I hit a good shot, I remember what my routine was. Keep head down, front arm straight, don't slow down on follow-through. It's a mind game, but it's more of "do this" than "don't do that."

    Golf

Go to the driving range, go to a par-three course too. Golf takes time to learn to play well. I would suggest getting a couple of lessons from a local golf pro. and just stick with it. if you go in with no expectations you'll have a lot more fun, and every now and then you'll hit a really good shot in between a bunch of garbage and you'll be like "wow this is awesome" Agreed. I'll go out and shoot 110, but I'll only remember the 20-foot putt that dropped in or the approach that landed 6-feet from the cup. That's why I keep going back.
  14. We've discussed this (or at least I have) in another thread, I think. Apparently Directv and various other cable providers don't see fit to pay to broadcast WGNA-HD. And since the sports and the news are about the only thing they show in HD, I guess it makes sense.
  15. I've been waiting seven years for playoff hockey, but I don't know if I'll be able to wait another three days. I'm pulling my hair out here. My wife is used to all the yelling, yelping, cursing, and everything else I do during Hawks games. But the playoffs are really different. I've been preparing her for this, but I'm still considering starting to hide my assets now.
  16. I'd rather have the games on CSN. Does anyone know if CSN will also broadcast the games that Versus is carrying? I mean, will Pat/Eddie just not do the games Versus has? I'd much rather listen to/watch them.
  17. Glad to see that. He really has been one of the elite goaltenders in the league this year. He had a few rough games last month when coming back from that injury, but otherwise, he's been great. I don't want to take away from what's going on now, but with Khabi clearly not coming back, it seems to me that Huet will have trouble ever being "the guy" here. Q hasn't shown a lot of confidence in him, and obviously the fans have made their choice this year. I have a feeling Crawford and/or Niemi will be getting a ton of PT next year.
  18. They've got me thinking Conference Finals again. I still think I would consider a first-round win and a tough out in the second round to be a good finish. But there is no reason if they are flying and Khabi can stay hot that they can't make the Campbell Conference finals.
  19. As good as the Wings are, they never play a physical style. Even acknowledging that, they are clearly not taking this game as seriously as the Hawks are. They are making the Hawks look like a physical team. That's not easy.
  20. Khabi is getting himself into playoff form just in time.
  21. And let me just say I love hearing Harvey Wittenberg on the PA. I know I've said it before, but his droll voice is part of my childhood hockey memories.
  22. Apparently it's a career high. Surprised me to hear that. On a side note, NBC here shows Cards games on Sundays. That means NBC's regular programming, whatever it may be (golf, hockey, whatever) gets bumped. They are showing the game on some UHF channel here. Not only is it not HD, it's the worst SD I've ever seen.
  23. He shoots he scores! Toews! And how about Seabrook giving Datsyuk some serious business a minute ago. Love it.
  24. Yeah, I don't know about that logo. The Indian head is too perfect. I hope the Hawks open Thursday or I might miss Game 1.
