    Like Darvish last year, early projections were $27M-$28M AAV, but then signed for $21M. $25M AAV might have to be the number Machado settles for. The only reported offer that seems in this range is the White Sox for $175M/7 yrs. I just don’t see him signing with them though.

    Apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Marty is an angry old coot that Cincy fans somehow love Harry, the last several years was an angry, old, dithering coot that most Cubs fans adored. Harry was no where near as spiteful as Marty has been. He’s a total jerk to opposing teams fans - especially the Cubs fans. He’s a dick.

    I very much think this is the case too. But like I said, it's still cool to see we have a guy in the system ranked so well in it with a pitch if it gives him even a little bit of a boost or is something that can be worked with to maximize his effectiveness. Spin rate doesn’t necessarily correlate with control, or lack thereof - in Chatwoods case.
