    This has to change in the next CBA, right? This system encourages high spending teams to spend less every other year. What’s the last major win by the Players Union? This has been a gradual move in the owners direction for decades and the players extended Tony Clark as Union leader. I’d expect it’ll continue to move in the owners direction moving forward. Tony Clark is working for the man. Send him to some negotiating classes for God’s sake. Or surround him with some good attorneys. Jesus.

    That's true, but hearing and seeing Bryce Harper and Eloy Jimenez all over the daily media would be frustrating, especially if the Cubs struggle. Agreed. The Sox farm system is loaded. If Eloy becomes the stud he's projected to become, it'll be painful. I doubt Bryce signs with them though - the league is littered with can't miss prospects.

    IF....the Cubs sign Harper - how in the hell do they re-sign Bryant? Between Harper and Heyride alone - thats projected to be $60M for 2 players for 2019-23. Craziness.

    The predicted length of the Machado/Harper contracts is getting ridiculous.

    If you back out the Mitch scrambles, I think that’d be more accurate. Yes, his scrambles count as rushes but many are not designed.
