  1. That would be amazing if we could do that. That seriously would be my dream scenario. By dream I mean the most realistic best scenario we can do.
  2. 20 HR, 100 RBI for that "older then dirt" player. He's also two years younger then Manny. He's worth a two year deal. EDIT: 371 OBP as well. The guy can still play and play at a high level. Doesn't he still steal about 20 bases a year as well?
  3. Strikeouts are overrated. Dunn is a vastly superior player to Soriano. Not the same player outside of the horrendous strike out rate. There's not much difference IMO. Soriano is Dunn of the tools first guys. Dunn is the Soriano of the SABR guys. Both are really flawed players. i do know this much...when fans of other teams watched the reds or the diamondbacks...they cringed when dunn came up to bat... i think that cringe was always a bit nastier than soriano for us dunn in our lineup this year may have really been a huge difference maker for us I don't have the "Cringe Factor" standings in front of me, but I don't know about that. oh jeez, just because i didn't throw out a stat man...sometimes this board is tedious you mean to tell me you would rather pitch to dunn instead of soriano...i would walk dunn to get to soriano personally I wouldnt want to pitch to either of them especially in certain situations, but I think people would walk Dunn to get to Soriano
  4. Strikeouts are overrated. Dunn is a vastly superior player to Soriano. Not the same player outside of the horrendous strike out rate. I think there about even. Dunn gets the upper hand offensively, but on the other hand Soriano though not a good fielder is much much better than Dunn in the OF.
  5. I would take Abreu in a second if he comes relatively cheap. He's left handed can play RF (though it might be bad) and can bat in the 2-6 hole which would help us out a ton. Like someone said it's not like we wouldnt have defensive replacements for him either.
  6. some notables include Mark Teixeira Carlos Delgado Rafael Furcal Orlando Cabrera Edgar Renteria Joe Crede Garrett Anderson (club option) Pat Burrell Carl Crawford (club option) Adan Dunn Manny Ramirez Rocco Baldelli Bobby Abreu Casey Blake Brian Giles (club option) Ken Griffey (club option) Vladimir Guerrero (club option) Raul Ibanez I'd love Furcal, Manny, Dunn, Abreu, Crawford or Vlad out of those crawford is cross-eyed I just still think he could be amazing. He'd be an amazing lead off hitter for us and he could play all three OF positions

  8. It's third....1A) SEC 1B) very close behind Big 12 2/3) Big Ten I'd say
  9. i am glad rocco is still playing ball...great story...but i would never want him to come to cubs...are you crazy? I don't see anything wrong with signing Baldelli to a one year deal. If he gets hurt or sucks we get rid of him, whats the worse that happens? The odds are he will never be a quality player or live up to his potential, but why not give it a shot. Who knows maybe he could turn into a good platoon player or more someday. I'd say best case scenario is Reed Johnsonish...So depending on who cost less since there both FA I wouldn't be apposed if he was relatively cheap his body is going to start declining soon...i wouldn't sign him if he was free... He's 27 I would disagree that his body is starting to decline, but on another note I know everyone wanted him as a free agent what about J.D. Drew any possibility to trade for him?

  11. Don't worry, only half of that will be true next week. MSU is going to clobber Northwestern (sorry Jon). I really doubt that. In fact, I think NW is going to win that game. It'll probably be a close game, as I think MSU is a slightly better team, but with NW at home it will offset the difference. Agreed. I think Ringer will prove just to much, but Northwestern could stick with for a while
  12. Step 1: I don't see us getting good prospects for a underachieving 33 yr old first baseman Step 2: Pittsburgh is dumb so maybe we somehow could pry McClouth from them, but not from Lee's trade prospects Step 3: Wouldn't mind Texiera, but only if we trade D-Lee or he learns to play OF Step 4: Trade Theriot which we'd probably get better prospects than D-Lee wouldn't mind this move either Step 5: Sign Furcal love this step Step 6: Keep Theriot and don't have to make Brob learn SS and spend less money Step 8: Profit from not trading for Brob and just keeping Theriot, but we wouldnt be profiting really because Furcal and Texiera will cost a S-ton of money
  13. Doesn't mean he can't play there. I would gladly take him out there...First off guys think about it he can't be that much worse then Dunn I'd think
  14. Still can't believe that Northwestern and Ball State are both ranked in at least one poll
  15. I thought this game was our easy win before the season started....Now that I've seen them play we could beat them badly or Turner could run all over us
  16. Wouldn't mind a Cedeno/fukudome/ (insert minor league pitcher) for him
  17. Beltran is the only person who sound able to obtain and fits that bill I don't see the Mets trading Beltran and what do we have that the Mets would want? I don't seem them either, but that's the consensus on who everyone else think is obtainable. Who do you propose? Adam Dunn comes immediately to mind. Everyone on here always say they want him. Believe me I totally would be down for getting him, but is remotely possible to get him? or is it just the same man love for the guy that would be hard to trade for? Why couldn't we get him? I'm sure he'd have no problem playing in Wrigley. Just got to make him a offer. I'm not saying we couldn't and by no means would I have a better idea than you. I just haven't heard any possible chance that they will move him. Isn't Dunn a free agent after this year? I don't think so? If he is then you got me sold totally and he'd be 10X better than Beltran :good: 2008 was Dunns option year, and he is a free agent for 2009. However, I really dont see Hendry being ble to pick up that big of a free agent on the offseason with the ownerssip in question. Bradley would be a better bet. Well then C.C. (the poster not the FA) sign me up! :write:

  23. He's been probably the most disappointing person on the team...maybe this will give him time to first heal his injured knee and secondly look like he wants to be there
  24. I feel like Vash has been getting burned a lot more this season than last
