  1. They had there Preseason rankings for the Big Ten in the Tribune today. Also the Preseason All Big Ten team. They ranked 1. Purdue 2. Michigan State 3. Wisconsin Manny Harris, U-M, So., G 16.1 ppg, 4.2 rpg Raymar Morgan, MSU, Jr., F 14.0 ppg, 6.1 rpg Robbie Hummel, Purdue, So., F 11.4 ppg, 6.1 rpg E'Twaun Moore, Purdue, So., G 12.9 ppg, 3.9 rpg Marcus Landry, Wisconsin, Sr., F 10.8 ppg, 5.4 rpg (So we basically were dead on for the rankings and the All-Big Ten teams) also this article about the rest of the conference http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/chi-27-big-ten-conference-hoops,0,2463122.story
  2. Have we actually proven that Sulley will exist if he can't speak out against those speaking ill of the Illini? I like to think of it as a public service. well, since that's pretty much everyone on this board, my existence is ensured for a very long time. and btw, the overlooked fouls over the last 4 minutes of that game were just payback for 2001. they are still calling fouls on arch in that one. I sending ill thoughts your way about the Illini ... whatchew gonna do about it? Probably beat you again at least once this year. So before you go thinking that Purdue was just amazing last year and that they are a lock to win the big ten. Remember they lost to us last year and we were about as bad as you could be and still be considered a D1 team. You weren't that bad last year....You guys way underperformed and should have been in the middle of the big ten...Either us or Michigan State are a lock to win the Big Ten this year the rest of the teams are weak... Watching us every game, it sure felt like we were horrible. More than bad luck it was more an ability to find ways to lose. Either shooting 50% from the free throw line or playing Chester Frazier around 34 minutes a game, we were bad. Oh and I still think Wisky wins the conference. I know they shouldn't, but they always overacheive. yeah, but that was there team with Brian Butch and Joe Krabbenhoft. They lost two of there three big guys. Butch was a force in the Big Ten. I just don't think Flowers and Landry will carry them to a title. They'll be good, but that's going to be tough with Purdue and Mich St being in there way They also weren't going to be as good without Devin Harris. Then without Mike Wilkinson, then they lost Alando Tucker. They just reload. If you want to beat them for the conference title you better be damn good. Like top 10 good. You may do it, but it won't be easy. You got a good point, but I feel like last year we were just young and inexperienced and they were a bunch of veteran guys who like you said reload and get it done, but this year will be a year older and more big game tested that's all I'm saying.

  5. If Purdue does indeed finish 3rd it will be because they lose to teams other than MSU and Wisconsin. They beat Wisconsin twice last year and split with MSU. The one MSU loss was by three on the road and without Hummel due to sickness. With Purdue having essentially the same team back I can't see them losing more than 2 of the four and I think its just as likely they win 3 or 4 of them. With two losses Purdue should win the title. Last year they lost the title because they got upset late in the season by Ohio State. That's what will have to happen this year for Purdue to lose the conference and probably one or two more upsets for them to finish third. Yeah I highly doubt will finish third. Wisconsin lost half there team and won't be as good as last year and we beat them twice last year. MSU I'd say it's up to us and them for first, but I highly highly doubt we finish 3rd. We have the same team from last year we lost two players and neither started. Not to mention we also got a PG to make up for losing Krump. The guy was one of the top recruits in Illinois Lewis Jackson
  6. Definitely agree 5-10 is completely up in the air
  7. Yeah, but besides Purdue they were one of the youngest teams in the country and with a brand new coach. I'm just saying
  8. I really think the only two very good teams are Purdue and Mich St. after that Wisconsin could be very good or mediocre. OSU will see and same with Minnesota
  9. Makes things a lot easier agreed, bad to wish harm on anyone, but this is one where it doesn't hurt the team at all.
  10. He was the only thing last year that was worth watching.
  11. Purdue played some games against some very strong competition in Australia over the summer. All reports from that indicate that Moore showed a stronger ability to create shots for himself than he did as a freshman. I think he was a little tentative for the majority of his first season. Part of that probably had to do with the fact that his ball-handling skills weren't anything great. It sounds like he's really improved that part of his game, and that's one of the reasons I can see him really taking off this year. Like you said, Hummell is a player. I'm curious to see how he builds off of his success as a freshman, since he was a strong all-around player. It wouldn't surprise me if he really improved his rebounding numbers this season. Moore averaged 27 points per game against the Australian teams. It should be noted they didn't play other Australian college teams they played the professional teams and went 2-3. Morgan or someone from MSU will almost have to be on first team because they will finish in the top three. I wouldn't just pencil them in the top 3. Purdue is better than them. Wisconsin will be in the top of the conference, they always are and Bo rents Izzo's butt out each year as he owns him. Ohio State has as much talent as they do. I do think that MSU will be at the top, but I do not think they are a lock to finish above any of those teams. I think it goes: 1. Purdue 2. Michigan State 3. Wisconsin 4. Ohio State/Minnesota I'm saying this because Wisconsin lost to much this year. Yeah they held onto Landry and Flowers, but all those big guys graduated. Ohio State is very talented, but we have to see if that pans out and on the other hand Minnesota was last year where everyone predicted Purdue was going to be last year. So who knows maybe a year into Tubby Smith and all those Sophomores will make this team even better? Minnesota's not very good. They aren't close to Ohio State. Well Ohio State lost there best two players from last year. Going into the season they predicted Purdue and Minnesota to be 2 or 3 years away from being good cause there teams were so young. I'm not saying they will be very good I'm just saying that maybe they'll bust out with those guys this year that didn't really ever do it last year.
  12. Could be that, but one of my friends from school wrote for the team and talked to him and I guess he never really blended with the other 3 guys. He for some reason was homesick even though he was only 45min away. He's probably going to play for Valpo or Indiana State so he'll play more and in the Valpo case cause it's where he's from Scott Martin transferred to Notre Dame. So did Ben Hansbrough, while I'm on the subject. Ok I never knew where he went.....The rumor was he was going to Valpo, but haven't really heard anything about it since I graduated

It should also be noted that they didn't play by college rules, which meant a longer gametime. However, I believe their losses were pretty close games (too lazy to look that up). Moore and Calasan played very well over there. Ha that's cause Calasan plays like them probably like a Big Eastern European guy aka Kukuc. Yeah I heard they played real close with them. I think Moore will play even better than last year. He was kind of scared of shooting last year until the end of the season and that's when he started scoring big. I swear that guy can shoot from anywhere is range is phenomenal. Johnson I have a good feeling about to. He's got range for a big guy. If he could put on some weight he could be very affective.
  15. Ummmmm he made second team All Big Ten last year and Hummel is the only returning first teamer meaning there are plenty of open slots. He is also the conferences leading returning scorer and Michigan will likely be better than they were last year. Moore was second team as well I have a strong feeling that Moore is going to have a monster season. The one thing that troubles me about Purdue is that Johnson didn't put on much weight in the offseason. Apparently though, he worked his tail off on his defense. Let's hope that pays off. Why did the other white kid transfer, not Hummell but I am blanking on his name? Was that ever really elaborated on? Scott Martin. I don't think it was ever really said, but if you read between the lines, it didn't seem like he was happy with his role. The kid's a very good shooter, and could end up being a decent rebounder. However, Purdue has long been a program that preaches defense, defense, and more defense. He has slow feet, which causes him to be a little more "handsy" on defense, which in turn leads to more fouls. I think that was one of the primary reasons he lost his starting job halfway through the season. Could be that, but one of my friends from school wrote for the team and talked to him and I guess he never really blended with the other 3 guys. He for some reason was homesick even though he was only 45min away. He's probably going to play for Valpo or Indiana State so he'll play more and in the Valpo case cause it's where he's from

  17. so dmac, hummel, Moore and who else? Dmac, Hummel, Moore, Landry, Kalin Lucas I'm thinking
  18. Anyone see the fight when the Caps guy fell to the ground then tried to get back up and the Pens player busted his nose and there was blood all over the ice? bissonnette destroyed him right off the hop, i had no idea how bradley kept going, let alone got back up after they went down. That was a beat down ha

  20. Why? what he do wrong? Did you see how terrible he made the lines the first 3 games? It was 3 games? And completely stupid line management. you would fire someone after 3 games? Football I'd understand because there season is way shorter, but hockey? really?
