  1. Stupid Purdue...If we could have made a shot we could have made it a game at least.
  2. Georgia won't be that big of an out of conference...yeah they won the SEC tourney last year, but that's the only reason they made the tourney. They already lost to Loyola by 25 early this year.
  3. I agree. Michigan State has been pretty bad although they are playing without Suton which is kind of big. Purdue lost two games though to two very good teams. I agree though U of I has impressed me so far along with Penn State. I thought Wisconsin would be decent along with Ohio State. Even Northwestern is looking decent, but My god IU is bad. MSU will come around when it matters. Izzo's teams always improve as the year goes on. Roe is not at full strength and they are missing Suton so they will get better. Purdue has one big game left against Davidson. It's disappointing that they couldn't get it done against either OU or Duke, but I think they will start to turn it on in Big Ten play. However, I think with the Big Ten being down both those losses will hurt their seeding come tourney time. That said I wish that Gordon hadn't screwed us, and that E'Twuan Moore was wearing Orange and Blue. haha about the Gordon thing I would still be bitter to if I were a U of I fan. Also agree with it hurting the seeding with those two losses and not to mention it will probably hurt the rest of the Big Ten and hurt teams like U of I or Penn State that might be on the cusp.

  5. First off, the Big Ten plays 18 conference games. Secondly, unless you have a bear of a non-conference(Michigan), it's gonna take at least 22 wins to make it from the Big Ten this year. That's what I'm saying I dont know how the rest of there no conference looks...So winning last night was pretty big beating an ACC team on a neutral court will look good for your resume.
  6. It's going to be close. We are kinda in the same boat. We should be 11-2 or 12-1. Obviously we have to win all of those games first, but we should. That would put us in the same spot. Should be interesting. Wish we would have got that Clemson game. Would have been huge for the conference. You usually want to win a big game out of conference, Win a big game on the road either in conference or out, and win about 18-21 games. Purdue will probably be in the same boat going into conference. Now however we should have a much better record in conference and hopefully win our next big game vs. Davidson
  7. Probably...just get a few big wins on the road and you'll have a good shot
  8. I figured either the Cowboys or the Raiders would jump all over him. With both Dallas and Philly likely interested in him, though, would the Giants release him? Or would they try to trade him? Al will trade for him (probably a first round pick) then will either cut him after a few weeks as Plaxico mopes on the sideline and gets 15 catches in 9 games or he'll trade him and get a 6th round pick in return. Sounds about right. Ha there's no doubt that would happen
  9. It does...If we would have just shot a halfway decent which we didn't at all we would have had a shot. It was an 8 point game at half time and we had a stretch of not scoring for 8min. Ugh....Seriously one of the worst shooting games I've ever seen and not just from Purdue, I'm saying basketball in general. Nothing against Duke though they are better than I thought and a very good team.
  10. Who sees him suddenly turning his career around on another team next year? Ditto :good: If he stays injury-free, I could see him being a league-average type DT. I don't see many pro bowls in Dusty's future. If I'm wrong, more power to him. He's looked pretty darn good when he is healthy though

  12. That would be a horrible career move for Meyer if he went to Notre Dame...I agree with him possibly going to the NFL
  13. I like Mark Schlereth pretty well. I actually love Mark Schlereth...but he's not even on that much anymore. I think he's like a full time character on that Soap Opera that they always talk about on Mike and Mike The only time I see him is off and on with Mike and Mike or on NFL Live occassionally. I do think he's a regular on the soap, though I can't confirm it since I don't watch them. Me either I just know whenever hes on Mike and Mike they play his song "Rock Hoover" and that they talk about it once and a while He was on Mike and Mike again talking to Ronnie Lott
  14. Wow we looked bad against Duke. That was some of the worst shooting I've ever seen. We didn't score in 8 minutes. Don't get me wrong Duke is a good team and really impressed me, but We couldn't make a shot and that wasn't all because of there defense.
  15. I think the beating that Forte is taking will take its toll. Peterson is a freak of nature and Forte doesn't have the line that Peterson has. I think its only a matter of time before something happens. Don't get me wrong he's doing amazing, but we need to get a better line for him and we need to get a good WR so he doesn't have to be our number one receiver and running back and literally touch the ball on every play. It's going to suck when he sits out this offseason to get an extension. He should, because he might only have 2 years left in the tank. Probably

  19. Looks like his contract with ESPN was up in Feb. and they decided not to renew it. Apparently Salisbury was upset because more popular athletes were paid more than he was even though he was a better broadcaster/analyst than some were. Thanks for the info...and now that you mention it I think I might have heard about the weird pictures
  20. Very Very random question? I never used to like this guy always thought he was annoying, but what ever happen to Sean Salisbury? I feel like for a 3 years span he was the go to NFL guy and then he just disappeared
  21. Graham did well, the Bears will have an interesting decision at DB with the contract of Vasher, I don't know what the cap hit would be, if there would be one. I don't like either safety, Brown is the team leader and go against the run but neither him or Payne can cover anyone. Manning is a bust except when he is returning kicks. I agree with Hillenmeyer and Davis serving no purpose on this team, although I think Hillenmeyer is better than Roach, neither are starting OLBs. Brown and Payne are too similar to both be on the field together. I kinda like both, but don't love either. Same strengths, same weaknesses. Need a ballhawk who will know his assignments in the pass game and make plays when the ball is in the air. Young Mike Brown was decent at this, while still providing run support. I thought Roach played his best game of the year last night, but was still below average. I've been calling Hillenmeyer's demise for 2 years now. agreed and agreed about the neither of them being NFL level OLB...Neither can cover the pass and neither are good enough tacklers that could make up for it
  22. Short of throwing his jacket, he pretty much did. I was at the game, and he was yelling non-stop at the official that called the intentional foul for a good two or three minutes straight. As he approached the scorer's table after the game to shake hands with the Oklahoma coach, Painter had to be pulled back by two of his assistants because he was right in the ear of the ref. The official didn't even look in Painter's direction the entire time. Of course, I was shouting at the same ref the last 10 minutes of the second half and all of the overtime period, so perhaps he couldn't hear Painter over me. That intentional foul was one of the worst calls I've ever seen. Not to mention it essentially put the nail in the coffin rather than us being down by the 3 with the ball at least
  23. Agree'd MSU lost to a non-ranked middle of the road ACC team.
  24. From ESPN: Agent: Four teams interested in signing Furcal By Jayson Stark ESPN.com (Archive) Furcal's agent, Paul Kinzer, told ESPN.com Monday that he has previously scheduled business to attend to outside the United States this week, so "I don't see anything happening before the winter meetings." The A's and Giants have actively pursued Furcal over the last couple of weeks. But another reason Furcal is in no hurry to sign is that two other clubs have interest, but only if they make another trade. One is known to be the Braves, although Kinzer would not confirm that. The Braves would pick up their efforts to sign Furcal only if they include shortstop Yunel Escobar in another deal. Escobar would be part of any Atlanta package for Jake Peavy. And the Cardinals and Royals also have expressed interest. Kinzer would not identify the fourth team in the Furcal hunt. But indications are that neither the Cubs nor Furcal's old team, the Dodgers, are currently in the mix. Executives from two other teams nominated the Red Sox and Orioles as possible matches. Kinzer declined comment, other than to say: "There are a few situations right now that will play themselves out either before the winter meetings or at the winter meetings. And that will give us a clearer picture of what's going on." Jayson Stark covers Major League Baseball for ESPN.com.
