  1. There two decent signings because they signed two players for cheap salaries and because both have huge upsides...I still don't think they were that great though and I'm not upset that the Red Sox made these moves instead of us
  2. That's just nuts and it was Harvard's first win ever against a ranked team
  3. I'd give him 2 years 10mil with a mutual option for the third....the guy is extremely reliable, is a proven winner, and would work nicely with his sinker in Wrigley. My second option would be Sheets for 7mil for one year. Kind of like the Penny deal
  4. Wow this is the second time today you posted an article that someone else had already posted. Is your internet just that slow that you can't refresh and it takes you 15-30 minutes to get an update? My bad if I don't see it on the last page then I add it...Sorry Delete it
  5. Ok bad news again ](*,) http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/ Cubs To Restart Peavy Talks? By Tim Dierkes [January 7 at 3:32pm CST] 3:32pm: Padres CEO Sandy Alderson doesn't believe there have been new talks with the Cubs, though that is not exactly what Wittenmyer said below. Alderson said it's likely Peavy will be with the Padres on Opening Day. He added that the Padres were never that close to a deal with the Braves and did not have an offer from the Cubs on which they could give a yes or no. Also, he doesn't believe the team's impending sale changes their position on Peavy
  6. I wouldn't mind him...he is extremely talented, but I think he might just be a headcase though
  7. It is pretty bad, but the Pro Bowl is by far the worst of them all. Mostly because the season is over and absolutely nobody cares about football the week after the Super Bowl. Yeah for sure the pro-bowl is the worst
  8. NFL is so much worse. Everything is pretty bad besides MLB...NBA is OK, but no one tries at all, NFL even more so than the NBA...I think NHL has something cool though with the skills challenge thing, but the game I think is bad
  9. Haugh is a hack. I cant think of another sports journalist who tries to use so many psuedo-witty analogies. His articles are hard to read, and his logic even harder to understand Warner is good because of the weapons he has...He'd get eaten alive on the Bears
  10. Should be a decent game Kansas at least has been competitive this year, but MSU is awesome at home
  11. I know I'm being optimistic, but maybe he just didn't want to play there?
  12. Peavy update and other options: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/ Cubs To Restart Peavy Talks? By Tim Dierkes [January 7 at 10:03am CST] According to Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times, "those close to Jim Hendry expect him to restart the Jake Peavy talks" now that the Cubs have unloaded salary with the Jason Marquis trade. Hendry admitted yesterday he hopes to add another pitcher before Opening Day. Wittenmyer notes that the Cubs' 2010 payroll was unaffected by the recent moves, so Hendry would need a nod from the new ownership group before taking on Peavy's contract. The new ownership could be in place with just enough time for the Cubs to swing a Peavy deal, Wittenmyer believes. As alternatives, Wittenmyer suggests Braden Looper and Tim Redding would fit better financially than Derek Lowe. Dave van Dyck wonders if Andy Pettitte could be a fit.
  13. What's that ab--oh, they played UCLA. Yeah, it's especially annoying since the Pac-10 is down and UCLA has already lost to 2 of their 3 quality OOC opponents. Makes that Notre Dame game so much more important. At least Arkansas looks like it should be a top 25 team. Arkansas looks really good...I'm thinking that it might not be that the Big12 was overrated and more that Arkansas is underrated
  14. In general, it can be perceived as difficult to demote coaches and expect players to maintain their respect for that guy. It's hard to get these guys to accept demotions. In this case, Lovie probaly wouldn't want to embarrass his BFF. Even though it would probably make our defense better?
  15. Sagarin Why would u think they'd go 5-13...They weren't even that bad last year and there best player was injured for almost the entire season last year
  16. Why not move Babich back to coaching the linebackers and move Marinelli to the D-coordinator?
  17. I guess people in Oklahoma cannot read. Yeah you didn't exactly support your claim with those numbers
  18. I wouldn't rule out the possibility of 7 or more Big Ten teams in the tourney if they keep beating each other up, and IU gets beat up. There could be 8 teams in the league with .500 or better records, and if the conference champ ends up with 5 losses (as has happened before), nobody other than IU is really out of contention for a tourney spot yet (PSU and Iowa were closest going into conference, but PSU is now 2-1 already in conference...Iowa is 1-1 with a close game at OSU). Would not surprise me in the least to see MSU, Purdue, Wisconsin, Ohio State, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, PSU or Northwestern in the tourney. I Think Northwestern will fall off even more, but besides that that looks about right Northwestern lost a close game at Stanford, a close game at Butler, a close game at PSU, and a home game to an MSU team that suddenly looks really dangerous. I wouldn't consider any of them bad losses, and they have a good win against FSU. Of course, they do need to start winning games in conference. I'm not saying they haven't played well, but I just don't see them making the tourney...They'll be more competitive this year for sure though

  20. I disagree...I know he tries really hard and constantly is working out and trying to get better, but the guy is undersized which doesn't help and he gets burned buy guys that are slower than him...I really think he just never will get above the level of D that he plays right now
  21. MSU has proven to be head and shoulders above everyone else, but there's a lot of questions still I wouldn't rule anyone I agree
  22. Is there goalie that bad? 13-1 in the two games? in the season series, I think I read the Hawks outscore the Yotes 20-4. So yeah, IMO, the Yote have no goaltending when it comes to the Hawka. Good God
  23. We were playing with out Hummel and Kramer, but regardless we still should have won that game and yes it would be horribly pathetic if we don't make it They're 2-4 against competitive teams. I'm guessing on a 9-9 Big Ten record after watching these first two conference games. 10-8 maybe, 11-7 would thrill me. They've been playing with two starters hurt...and we lost two games to two teams that in the top 10 teams in the country. There's no way we finish 9-9 in the Big Ten.....We lost the first two, but come on were not that bad and at full health will lose probably 5-7 (in the big ten) games I think
  24. It's a pretty good bet he never will. That's why I want desperately want SG who can play defense and doesn't want to shoot every time he touches the ball
