  1. I'm not understanding this. Are you saying we should all really believe that OU is the best team, even after losing the game? Quite the opposite, I was extremely unimpressed with Oklahoma last night and I find it really hard to believe that they're the 2nd best team in the nation after last night. And seeing how a 1 loss Texas team did in fact beat Oklahoma (who finished with two losses), there's no way Oklahoma should finish 2nd in the polls. If you're going to rank Texas ahead of Oklahoma, Utah and USC definitely should be ranked ahead of Oklahoma as well. Texas doesn't deserve two...If anything it should be 1. Florida 2. USC 3a. Texas 3b. Utah 5. Oklahoma
  2. And how he tried to get out of it?
  3. Barkley is leaving TNT for a while: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3821676 Updated: January 9, 2009, 3:43 PM ET Police: Tests show Barkley legally drunk Comment Email Print Associated Press PHOENIX -- Charles Barkley is taking a leave of absence from the broadcast booth. The announcement by Turner Sports came Friday, hours after police said the 45-year-old former NBA star was legally drunk when police arrested him Dec. 31 on suspicion of drunken driving in Scottsdale, Ariz. Test results show Barkley had a blood-alcohol level at .149, nearly twice the legal limit of .08 in Arizona. Barkley will be off the air for a minimum of several weeks and no return date has been set, a person familiar with the situation told The Associated Press. The person requested anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss it. "I have spoken with Charles Barkley regarding the incident. .. and I understand he has hired a lawyer to represent him regarding this matter," said David Levy, president of TNT Sports, in a statement. "When I spoke with Charles, he was apologetic for the events that transpired and it was obvious he understands the significance of the situation. This is an important time for Charles as he deals with the legal and personal issues that confront him. Charles is a valued part of the Turner Sports organization and we are concerned for his well-being." A Gilbert officer working a regional DUI task force stopped Barkley shortly after he left a popular nightclub at about 1:30 a.m. He failed field sobriety tests but was cooperative. Barkley was booked and released at a field command post and later issued a statement saying he was disappointed he put himself in that situation. Barkley's attorney wasn't immediately available for comment Friday. Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press Anyone hear why he was speeding? :rotfl:
  4. They were saying in one of the mock drafts we had a shot at him right? I think he'll end up somewhere around that 15-20 range, so he could be there for our taking if Angelo/Lovie want him. The only thing that scares me is he might not be big enough to be the big receiver we need and like Bennett will get benched all season Well if Lovie's benching a top-20 talent because he's not 6-4 220 lbs, then we've got more problems than we thought. True

  7. Yeah agreed....I think Florida got knocked down way to far early in the season...Ole Miss was good team in a good conference and Florida lost by an extra point...Didn't they initially drop to like 8? They dropped from 4th in both polls to 12th in the AP and 13th in the coaches. And nobody knew that Ole Miss was a good team when they beat Florida. They were coming off a 3-9 season and were 2-2 this year with losses at Wake Forest and at home to a traditionally weak Vanderbilt team. Everyone thought Florida lost to one of the poorer teams in the SEC, not what turned out to be a top 15-20 team in the nation that took Alabama to the wire, won at LSU and beat Texas Tech. Ok...I thought they played a little later on in the season and Ole Miss I remember was .500 at the time. Still I don't think they deserved to 12th or 13th...
  8. I know Maclin is supposed to go first round, but what about Collie?
  9. How would he contribute to the emotion or feeling of the formation? oh come on for him that's pretty close Guys I don't check my spelling...If it's obvious I'll notice it, but if it's something like that where it won't come up wrong when I type it sorry, but it slips past me. I don't mind be corrected though and I appreciate it

  12. I was just saying the order I thought it would be, but yeah I agree that teams shouldn't fall so far in the AP Poll after losing the national championship...Unless you get spanked, but obviously that didn't happen yesterday
  13. He is even smaller than Bush so like you said he's in that category, but not as good Bush was listed at 6-0, 200 when he came out of USC. Pervin is 5-11, 195 -- not a huge difference. I also think Pervin is a lot stronger than Bush. Really? I feel like Bush would easily out muscle him Not that bench press necessarily translates to the field, but Harvin benches 405 pounds. Harvins pretty strong. I think he'll play both at the next level and he's every bit as talented and as good as Bush is, on a per play basis. I just doubt he's able to stay healthy. I doubt he'll get much action at RB outside of your standard Wildcat formations. Yeah that would be the only formation that could be effective with him the backfield

I still think even if he's a little stronger than Bush he'll struggle, but I do have to say playing WR will give him a better shot at succeeding than playing RB
  15. Wow that would be awesome if he coached

Like I said he must just look small on TV
  17. It's a fair point. However, there's got to be multiple teams that would look at Dunn, with all the strikeouts, low average and no playoff appearances, and prefer a guy like Fielder who is pre-free agency, has 30 points in average and 30-60 fewer strikeouts. I feel like neither guy would be that big of a difference see he obviously made a good point about just saying to sign Dunn rather than trade for Fielder

I also think Pervin is a lot stronger than Bush. Really? I feel like Bush would easily out muscle him Harvin's a lot stronger than he looks. I'd be shocked if he doesn't come out as a wide receiver, simply because an NFL team is going to want his speed spread out wide. I guess Harvin just looks smaller on TV, but your right
  19. Is it just me or does this make even less sense for the Brewers...Though it's just Rothensal's opinion: Rosenthal On Fielder, Buchholz, Edmonds By Tim Dierkes [January 9 at 8:54am CST] The latest from Ken Rosenthal... * Rosenthal suggests the Brewers trade Prince Fielder for "premium pitching" and then sign Adam Dunn to replace him. Which begs the question, why wouldn't the team giving up this premium pitching just sign Dunn instead? Besides the point yeah the Cardinals scare me a little more than any other team

  21. Not according to the AP poll 1. Florida 2. Utah 3. USC 4. Texas 5. Oklahoma WOW...AP put Utah over USC? I thought they'd be 3 for sure When Rick Riley talks, (some) people listen I'm not saying they don't deserve it, but USC always gets way more love than they deserve and I'm surprised that they weren't 2
  22. He is even smaller than Bush so like you said he's in that category, but not as good
  23. See I think he'll fail, but Redick is a dick and is complaining about playing time by the way. I don't think Tebow will do well in the pros, but he's a nice guy so I'd feel worse for him than JJ Redick failing....But I understand your take on it What makes you think Tim Tebow is a nice guy? He comes from the Jay Cutler, Philip Rivers, Jake Delhomme school of completely bitchy quarterbacks, only without the requisite ability to throw footballs. I meant off the field...Reddick just seems like a douche
