  1. Thinking back I should've had Sean take his video camera........
  2. Hey folks was at todays game and although Seans line wasn't that great I was really impressed with his outing. Wasn't a hanging "Slider" but a "hanging" curve and Sean was ahead of all the hitters. His velocity was Mid 90's and since losing the weight he has much better balance. I was little perplexed with his 1st inning of work as he threw the 1st five hitters a steady diet of FB's. Once he started to mix in the offspeed pitches he was much more effective and threw a nice CB to Weeks to K him. It actually looked like he had Cameron fooled but left the CB up there and give Cameron credit he was able to adjust. His SL was working great and although I would say Sean might be a little disappointed with his outing. I would think just the opposite and that he made two bad pitches and learn from your mistakes and move on......
  3. I heard Ron mention during todays radio broadcast that he thinks the Cubs will make a move before the start of the season. I also have heard that the O's had a few scouts in attendance at todays game and also the Cubs had scouts watching the O's. It should be interesting to see how this plays out and if a trade finally gets done. It was also mentioned over at "OH" that if the O's were to deal Roberts that they had no shot at Texeria. It would be interesting to see how that plays out as Texeria is represented by Boras and if they might hold on to Roberts in hopes of signing Tex. It should also be mentioned that Texeria is from the Baltimore area but would this signing make sense with the way the O's have been cutting payroll?? Can you also believe that "Traschel" is a lock to make the O's rotation and shows you how bad a shape they are in. I did find this interesting as this was a quote from the manager that he mentioned that the #5 pitcher in the rotation might come from another team.
  4. There is so much I would love to say on this topic but unfortunatley I can't!!! ](*,)
  5. Sean and Kevin did pitch but they threw early at 0800. I will be in AZ next week. \:D/ How long you out there for? I'll be there the following week...I'd be happy to trade you a couple beers for an autographed baseball :D Actually I will be in Mesa from March 1/10th and would love to take you up on your offer. ;)

  7. I think he's just implying that since a deal hasn't been reached yet, and those were the names we've been hearing for a long time, that the names aren't the same. I'm not sure he's implying that Gallagher isn't one of the names, nor do I really think that Sean would know that himself. I'm not reading anything into the winking, because PC has done it in every post recently, including ones that couldn't possibly be insinuating anything. As I was trying to say is that the initial names couldv'e been Gallagher, Murton and Cedeno that were brought up. I think that since the initial discussions that maybe the names have changed?? as to who I would have no idea. I also brought up in my post that the deal between the O's/M's that three names were agreed upon quickly it was the other parts that took awhile. I really don't know anything more than what I read between the websites... ](*,) ;)
  8. Those aren't the names being tossed around at this point. I would have to say that when the talks between Hendry and MacPhail started that these were the names brought up. It would seem to make sense that since this time the names have changed. You have to remember that when MacPhail started discussions with the M's about the Bedard deal that 3 names were quickly agreed upon by both sides but it took awhile to agree on the other two. I would have to say that this deal if made is going to take awhile as I am sure both sides are throwing out names as to who would be involved. ;)
  9. "Wow" I feel bad for all Cubs fans that it actually took this reporter 2 months to figure out what has been going on......
  10. Just FWIW I watched Sean throw his last bullpen before he left for AZ and he had a MLB catcher from another team catching. He was consistently Mid 90's and his offspeed pitches were there and there were a few other MLB players watching and they had nothing but good things to say. He has been working out really hard as evidenced by his dropping twenty five pounds and has been working on being ready as soon as ST opens...... ;)
  11. Well I would just like to add that I just watched AM press conference about the trade and here were a few interesting points. It was asked about the possibilty of adding a veteran pitcher to help the youngsters and AM replied that yes he would be looking to add a veteran. Does this mean that somehow AM is persuading JH that he will take Marquis but only if JH picks up most of his salary?? Question was also asked about with the players they have recieved in the Tejada/Bedard deal could he swing some of these players in another trade. AM replied that with all the players that they have added he would sure hope that other teams would be interested. Just curious as I thought somebody had recently posted that they thought Sherrill would be included with Roberts. A question was asked about the possiblity of a Roberts move and AM stated that he and his staff would have to sit down and take a look but if there was a trade that would improve his club for the future he would certainly listen. Its going to be interesting to see how this plays out as the 0's are clearly in a rebuilding process and is Roberts going to want to stay. I would also have to say that in listening to AM if the Cubs want Roberts its going to cost them.....
  12. How can you miss Gallagher when he has only pitched 14 innings? In those 14 innings he has given up 19 hits and 14 ER to go along with 12 walks. Not that Marshalls track recored is very good, I would certainly prefer to trade Gallagher over Marshall at this point, especially if it nets us B. Roberts. Its just great to know that Sean still has all his haters out there and to be honest he was put into a role that he wasn't familiar with. Thats okay everybody is entitled to their opinion, is that to say that with given a chance to start he won't be better? Who knows will that chance be with the Cubs?, who knows and at this point to keep viewing a post that has dragged on for almost 200 pages. Is this trade really going to happen? I don't know at this point and have stopped worrying about it. I like the rest of you will just have to wait and see.
  13. Hey does anybody know if the "Bedard" trade has been made official......... ;) Just thought I would ask......
  14. O's dont want Marquis!!!! Hendry is just prayin that he can find some way to include him in this deal.....Hey has anybody heard if "Bedard" has taken his physical yet....... \:D/
  15. That happened yesterday between Peace21 and BigBird. With everything that has gone on with this trade and the fact that it has taken this long anybody wanna bet that something "pops up" with a players physical and the trade is called off....... ;)
  16. And that's when you know it's time to walk away... The Cubs won't walk away cause they need to "WIN" now and it seems that this has to be the year!!! The only way I see the "O's" even considering taking Marquis is if the Cubs are willing to pay most of his Salary. Why would the "O's" who are in the midst of trimming salary and taking players who will be in their control for the next 2/3 yrs take Marquis and pay his salary. Its going to be interesting to see how this all plays out in the next couple of weeks as the Bedard deal should be announced either today or tomm. I would say that if Roberts were to be dealt it would be quick but with the way the Bedard deal dragged out who knows ;)
  17. Do you have any insider word on this? Nudge, nudge... Sorry, but I just read what is being posted on all the "websites" whether it be NSBB, Cubs.com or OH. I wanna say that I thought it was stated in a Chicago paper months ago that Piniella had made a statement as to how much he likes Roberts. To be honest if you just saw the trade they completed with Seattle for Bedard for five players that the O's are going to ask for more since Roberts is Angelos favorite. ;)
  18. Lets see folks who holds all the trump cards in this deal for "Roberts"!!! Its AM and he knows how badly Hendry and Piniella want this guy and he is going to ask for as much as he can.
  19. If you remember and this was posted many moons ago is that supposedly Bedard had to be dealt first and then Roberts......... ;)
  20. The O's want neither Murton or Cedeno according to what I have heard from MASN. A.M has been asking about other players......
  21. Sean and I were both excited to hear that Rolando Pino recieved a very much deserved "promotion". Rolando was the scout who stuck with Sean and to this day we are still very close with Rolando..... =D>
  22. I spent some time out in AZ for the AFL this past offseason and I am pretty sure that Donaldson wasn't on the Solar Sox roster to begin the season. I was impressed with the way he played and as somebody already said shows how highly he is thought of by the organization.
  23. http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/sports/roch/blog/ I can honestly say that "players were never contacted by their agents". I have heard that the names of the players involved have changed but with all the stuff that has been posted about this who knows what to believe.....
  24. Just wanted to post that Sean, Kevin Hart and Shark are attending this seminar this weekend. MILB has a nice piece on this and what its about.
