  1. Heard today on ESPN 1000 or MASN which is the local sports channel that the talk is Bedard won't be dealt until next season as he is still under the O's control for 2 more years. They were also saying that supposedly "Angelos" wasn't willing to part with Roberts just yet. I know its been reported elsewhere that a trade was close but in listening to the talk show hosts it doesn't sound as if Roberts is going anywhere.
  2. Actually this would be a gain of 3 as Gallagher, Pie and Cedeno are on the 40 man
  3. Its amazing that all you fans freak out about SP every year and don't want to give a chance to any of the players coming up through the system!!!!! Why have a system if all you fans want to do is trade them for another player and not give them their chance. Lets just keep spending money and were did that get you last year, yes you won the Central but thats all you were going to do. Do you not look at the other teams like the Rockies, Diamondbacks and a few others that yes they have their established pitchers but they are also working players they have developed in their rotations.
  4. Didn't mean to stir things up but I had gone to Cubs.com and there was a post about Tejada to the Astro's. I think somebody had said that it was being reported by a Houston radio station. I know nothing more than what I have read at all the teams websites that it is being speculated that the O's owner nixed the trade.
  5. Cubs don't have prospects to deal for Figgins
  6. Tejada has already been dealt to the Astros
  7. I wanna say that the Tejada trade was a precursor for more dealings by the O's. If you look at what the O's got in the deal they got Everett and Burke who play 2B/SS so does this mean that Roberts suddenly became moveable, I would think so as why would they deal for middle infielders. As for Bedard I wasn't implying he was coming to the Cubs but that the O's were going to start dealing.
  8. To be honest I really only know what everybody else has been hearing and that started last night with the talk of Sean going to the O's for Roberts. I just heard about the Tejada trade at "Cubs.com" and its been a mixed feeling day but its like this every year at this time you never know whats going to happen.
  9. I think you are going to see the O's start to make their moves here shortly with Tejada being the 1st blow and Roberts and Bedard to follow..........
  10. Tejada has been moved to the Astro's but it hasn't been announced yet......
  11. Please give me a break!!!! Cubs have no shot at "Santana" this will come down to the Yankees and the Sox. Rumor has it that Boston is willing to deal their stud Ellsbury along with one of their pitching prospects and a few other prospects. I don't see him with the yankees as the Twins want Joba and Yankees won't move him. The Twins have tons of pitching coming up through their system so I can't see the Cubs having anybody they want........
  12. I could see the Twins moving Garza as at the end of last year he basically tourched the entire organization with being demoted.
  13. Just checked cubs.com this a.m and Hoffpauir hasn't been added to 40 man. Actually there are only 38 players on the 40 man as of today.
  14. Not sure if C Walker has been re-signed by the Cubs.
  15. Every team in the AFL has the option of designating a pitcher for a SP, the cubs never submitted a name. Sean was also a late addition to the AFL as he was added to replace another player.
  16. Was great to watch the game online last night. Sean finished really well and both his SL and CB were working great last night. I think he has become more comfortable coming out of the bullpen but I am keeping my fingers crossed that come ST he gets a shot at a starting role.
  17. I think the plan is for Sean to return to the pen as of now but who knows? I do know that from looking at some of the scouts guns while he was throwing he threw a few 96mph FB to a couple of hitters. Its pretty interesting to watch these games as every MLB team has scouts in attendance. I also overheard that a lot of scouts were happy to see Sean start.
  18. Yes, today was cubs day in Mesa as they are holding the Cubs Organizational meetings this week in Mesa. Sean was a suprise starter as they needed a pitcher for today. Thought he did very well as this is the most he has thrown in a while.
  19. Will be in AZ next week to watch some baseball and if anybody else in the area please get in touch......
  20. Nice to hear Sean had a good outing, he hadn't faced any live hitters in a while. I do know he was throwing bullpens while with the Cubs and all the reports were good. I had spoken with Sean yesterday and he wasn't sure when he was going to pitch. I will be heading to AZ in a few weeks to watch some games.
  21. It was pretty funny to watch as Sean was raggedy ann and sam fuld was bat girl and I think kevin hart was wonder woman. Fotenot and Pie were pretty funny but didn't get to see Soto or Theriot. I also heard that the entire team walked them back to the hotel.....
  22. Its amazing that I just got back from "Wrigley" last week and what a difference it is to watch a game there. I must also say that I am still a "Sox" fan and have seen many a game at "Fenway" and can tell you this franchise in So Fl is a joke. I have attended games at Dolphin stadium and the sight lines are terrible and the seats are to far away from the field. Also add the fact that on day games who wants to sit in that sweltering heat and humidity. I think the marlins have a team payroll of about 22mil and have heard that the marlins recieve 62mil from the Commisioners office for the lux. tax that is dispered among the teams. This teams lease is due to expire at the end of the 2008 season and won't be renewed and there has been talks about building a stadium at the site of the Orange Bowl. I don't see this happening as nobody from the counties to the north of Miami would be willing to drive that far south to watch this team. I will also add that when Cubs invade Miami we have already recieved ticket requests for about 300 tixs to hopefully watch Son make an appearance.
  23. My bad but the people of Knoxsville don't have to worry about showing up tonight due to the fact they play away. How is it that the smokies only play one game at home of a five game series?
  24. You know what really pisses me off is when they start playing that stupid song "rocky top"!! Keep that crap at the football game, I went through this same crap last year in West Tenn. They had to put the "Vols" game on the scoreboard screen to apease the 200 fans that showed up.....
  25. What a friggin joke these players bust their humps for over a 165 games and this is what they get when they make the playoffs!!!! I am hoping that this was a typo that only 1200 fans showed up my bad I forgot that the "Vols" were playing yesterday. Gee do you think more fans might show up today.....
