  1. Just to add my 2 cents, last year son was called up to Daytona at the end of last season and a few of his friends showed up. After the game one of the parents made a comment when Son came out about who brought the "juice boxes". Well this had to do with when son was younger and playing LL that after the games the kids looked forward to their "juice boxes" and snack. Anyways friend was saying this as a joke but was quickly told by son that those words are not taken to kindly. I know that what was said about "juice" was probably meant as a joke but u never know who is reading these posts and having experienced this would tell folks to watch what they say about any of these players.....
  2. DJAXX- thanks for help.....
  3. Pretty nice article on Sean and yesterdays game
  4. I got a big kick out of listening to the game when spears was plunked in the bottom of the inning that Sean came right back and 1st pitch next inning plunked the St Lucie batter... The announcers call was comical...
  5. Interesting fact that 1st run Sean let up last year was also a solo HR, I will make sure I give him lots of ribbing later....
  6. Can tell you that some moves have already been made but cannot say anything until official.....
  7. Spoke with Sean last night and should've asked him cause I was curious also but Sunday is an off day. I would imagine that everybody would be just be pushed back a day and the 18th would be Seans next scheduled start.
  8. Just to chime in that Sean has been throwing his slider but the best thing about him is that he knows when to throw it. Yes he did have a lot of GB'S outs last night but he also was ahead in the counts most of the game and threw lots of 1st pitch strikes. You will also see that he had 2 of the hitters 0-2 and they ended up getting hits which he has to put these guys away. I will say also that when Sean was being scouted in 2004 most scouts agreed that his "Power slider" was probably his best pitch. I think you will see him throwing it this year but rarely and only when the count merits.
  9. Can confirm that through-out the Game Sean was mid-90's most of the night with "nasty" curve and slider. He was actually throwing harder than Rogers who is ranked as the Brewers #1 prospect.
  10. I can say for sure that Sean Gallagher is headed to "Daytona", I have spoken with him and the rosters are set. That is all I will say but yes there are some surprises but will not say anything else until officially posted... I know Sean would've loved to made DJaxx but this is easier on family to see plenty of his games..... Good Luck to All the Players this year..
  11. Being reported by local sports station WEEI that minaya and the Red Sox are close on a deal for Manny...
  12. Sean and Walt still talk frequently and Sean was saddened to hear of Walts release. Like I told Sean this is part of the game and can happen at any time. I also had the pleasure of spending time with Walt on my visits out to Peoria and for a roomate he was great for Sean.
  13. Just to give you another update that Sean got some really exciting news the other day from the Cubs PR department that he has been invited on the Cubs Caravan!! Not sure what this all entails but the good news and he was happy to hear that the Caravan will be making a stop in "Peoria". He is looking forward to seeing everbody back there.
  14. Sean and I both know its nice to get all the articles written and have folks talk about you but as for the rankings there nice but he takes them with a grain of salt. We don't know what BA personally has against him but "oh well" he uses whatever they say about him as motivation.
  15. Just to get back on the question about Sean and his slider. It was the organizations decision about this pitch due to the torque it puts on the arm. There was an article last season by somebody in the Organization that until they mature physically and their recent troubles with young pitchers they not use this pitch. This isn't to say that maybe Sean threw it a few times this year but yes he still throws it during his bullpens for practice.
  16. Newbie to this site and wanted to say hello. Wanted to let you know that Sean has been back in the gym for the past few weeks and will continue up to Spring Training. Sean is lucky that we have a hospital that has a sports conditioning facility that is used by MLB. Sean has on occasions worked out with "AJ Burnett" and other well known players who live in the area during the offseason. I have to give a shout out to his two trainers "tony and bruce" who have helped Sean greatly. Sean had a fantastic season last year but he knows that this is a new year and its up to him as to where he ends up next season. I must say that Peoria was a great place for him to start being a small town feel and the people were great. This was a learning experience for him being his first time away from home and living out of a suitcase. Sean also had a time where he got lazy and complacent and was roughed up luckily he had a pitching coach "TP" who took no crap. TP and Sean figured out his mechanics and Sean finished the season strong. Sean also knows that he needs to work on his change-up this offseason and will also say that Sean has a "nasty slider" that the Cubs Organization would not allow him to throw this season. Sean threw a lot of innings this season 145 and when you take into account bullpens and other stuff it was wise of the Cubs to tell him to rest.
