  1. Pretty sure Grant had some shoulder issues this past season.
  2. Don't see Gallagher starting year at AA.......
  3. Was in attendance for last night's game and "great" game for Sean to end the season.. Umpire's zone was all over the place last night but Sean was all over the corners of the plate, could've easily had 12'ks but thats the way this game is sometimes!! His velocity for the entire game was 91/93 and had his curve working last night. Had pleasure of having a late night dinner with Sean and Jake Fox last night and its great to see the way these two "get along". Jake is a class individual and wish nothing but the best to him and his wife and continued success in the AFL this summer. Sean had some goals this season and he pretty much surpassed all of them and next year "who knows" but he does realize how close he is. I would like to thank "all of you from NSBB" about the posts/comments you have made about my Son and look forward to having sean home and next season..... I would like to add that if you could please keep "Sean" in your thoughts and Prayers!! I had the unfortunate task of telling my son after the game that his Aunt who he was very close with had passed away this past week.
  4. I was in West Tenn this weekend to watch son pitch final game of season tonight. I had heard that a decision has been made on the team but will not say anything until officially announced... I will say that it is very disappointing as a parent to have been here on numerous occasions and the dismal attendence this team seems to draw. Its amazing that during the entire game the attendance was never announced and nothing in the sovenuir shop.
  5. Just wanted to say even though I voted for Sean wanted to show some love for Jake Fox. He and Sean have gotten pretty close this year and just wanted to say he would've had my 2nd vote. I just wanted to say thanks!!, to Jake his Wife and his Family for letting Sean spend the SL All-Star break with them. TXS.. :)
  6. Sorry but no "favortisim" here gotta vote for my Son. AA ball as a 20yr old holding his own. If you would've asked me before the season started that Sean would have a season like this I would've said "no way". He is determined to make it to Wrigley and tell all his "naysayers" to shove it. Just to add he is close to leading the league in ERA and his last 3 outings have been consistent. Had some mechanical issues and also I am sure the "nerves" of facing better hitters also played into this. He had a problem with walks which I wanna say was tied into his mechanics but the good thing is that "he has a niche" of not letting them hurt him. I am not taking anything away from Mr Veal he has also had a great season but my vote has to swing to the 20yr old in AA. :D
  7. Gallagher keeps living the good life for the Diamond Jaxx, striking out 23 and giving up just two runs in his last 19 innings over three starts. He's an impressive 11-3, 2.37 overall despite his 71 walks in 152 innings, but who's he got to blame for that? Fox if catcher were a primarily offensive position, Fox would be in line for a big league look soon. He's hitting .370 in August and .296/.354/.526 overall, with 21 homers in 399 at-bats. He can throw some as well but has 20 passed balls and still needs defensive polish, but he can hit. Congrats to both...... :D
  8. Update, just got off the phone with Sean, really bad bruise with a catusion?(sp) around the bone. Sean being the player he is immediatley wants to put cleats on and throw. Told Sean to take it easy for today and try tomm. Just glad its a bruise especially after the shot he took in Jacks.. :D
  9. belay my last.... will update though
  10. Just thought I would chime in but Fox is playing LF tonight, just got back from Jacksonville and they are short position players. Dope is done for the year, Nic Jackson is mending and might be back. Cates who hit the inside the park homer the other night really messed up his hand.
  11. Hey any chance the feed will be up and working tonight. I should probably just listen to the other teams feed..... 8)
  12. Please tell me "what feed you are talking about" cause I have nothing. Its been that way for the past couple of nights, is it to hard to expect to have a feed if the website promotes it....
  13. Hey Bud, Just wanted to say "keep up the good work" but also wanted to ask about the differences between the hitters at High-A/AA. Do you have a pre-game routine that you follow before every game. What do you do in you off time in Jackson and what about having to swing the bat again. Well thats all I have for now but will pick your "brain" during the offseason. ttyl. :D
  14. As for wind-up, wife and I just returned recently from West-Tenn. Took numerous photos of Sean warming-up before start and will try to download. His delivery is usually 3/4, throws 4 seamer, 2 seamer, 12/6 curve, slider and change. He does have different grip pressures for each pitch which creates more or less movement. Forgot he is also working on a cutter. hope this helps. As for gun speeds never really put much into this as many folks do, yes its nice to be able to "bring it" when needed. As I have told sean many times its the movement you need on each pitch to keep the hitters off balance. I have heard Ron say many a night "its great to throw it high 90's but if its straight down the middle you won't last long".
  15. I can probably answer part of that question but in Sean's last start in St. Lucie, yes he did hit 101. He actually hit 100 a few times and had the fans going but suspect this was a "fast gun". I usually talk to Sean after every outing and can say that "Yes" he is throwing mid-90's but he is mixing it up with change of speeds to keep the hitters off balance.
  16. As for Mateo being ejected was at the game and pretty sure Sing was hit his first AB and had his head zipped his 2nd AB. Wasn't the player hit for Miss. the same player who came in with a Cleats-up slide last night to Ritchie at home last night.
  17. Would just like to say that our family will be in West Tenn all next week and look forward to hopefully meeting some of you.
  18. Would just like to say that we appreciate all of you who are wishing our Son luck with your kind words. I will say that in talking with Sean during the off-seasons he is driven to accomplish what others say he has no shot. He loves it when he reads what folks are saying about him especially one major Baseball Publication. again txs
  19. Yes Sean speaks highly of the Jaxx pitching coach and is excited to join the Jaxx staff. As for the WX he may have a problem getting to them looking at the radar here in florida but I am sure he will make it. Also wanted to know if anybody could recommend a hotel for west tenn. We will be there next week for their homestand and would appreciate all recommendations. txs
  20. Let me be the 1st to say that I just got off the phone with Sean and He is on his way To "West Tenn". We were really looking forward to attending the FSL All-Star Game this weekend but with news like this, oh well. I am so happy for Sean and look forward to meeting some of you in the coming weeks in Tenn.
  21. Looks like on the radar here in the office that Daytona will be lucky to play the next few days with "Hurricane Alberto" heading their way. Just spoke with Sean and it is pouring up there..
  22. Hey folks just returned from watching the Daytona game and on the scoreboard Sean actually hit "101" twice. I can say that in talking with Sean after his past few starts he has been around mid-90's. The St Lucie pitcher was hitting 95 on the scoreboard and I will concur that there were some good defensive plays made behind him. The Family is looking forward to next weekend in Lakeland and hopefully not soon after we will hopefully make a few trips to Tenn.
  23. according to ITI and the Cubs, Harvey is having lower back problems.
  24. As reported by ESPN Minor lg. Umps have reached a tentative agreement and should be back to work by May 8th. I think the Delmon Young incident played alot into this finally getting done but I attended all of the D-Cubs games played this past week in Jupiter and let me say "they were the most badly officiated games I have ever been to. The replacment umps even though I was glad they were working games to let these teams play the quality of officiating has hurt these teams. There was a play at home plate last night in the D-Cubs game were Fox clearly had the plate blocked and runner had to slide around him that everybody on the 1st base side clearly saw the tag but because umpire was out of position called the runner safe!! Then later in the game the D-Cubs had runners on 1st/2nd with 1 out and ball is hit up the middle and SS fields ball out on outfield grass has no play anywhere and then tries to throw behind runner at 3rd and airmails throw into dugout. Runner on 3rd scores and runner on 2nd was smartly sent home by D-Cubs manager. An overthrow from the outfield runners awarded are awarded 2 bases, well the coach from Jupiter came out to argue the call with umps and changed their minds and wanted a runner sent back to 3rd base. Umpires then went over to the D-Cubs dugout to tell them well then a coach from the D-Cubs argued with him for a few minutes and the reversed their call again to allow the runner to score. At this point everybody was losing their cool and the Jupiter coach stormed out of the dug-out and went into a "Profanity laced" tirade at both umps and then got himself tossed. This officiating crew brought this upon themselves because they were so bad. Last nights game the strike zone for both teams in the early innings was consistent but in the 5th/6th innings the umpire suddenly decided to "keyhole" both pitchers and unfortunatly at this point both pitchers could do nothing but throw it down the middle. It was like this every night I was there and want to say that with all the Minor Lg games I attended last year can't wait to have to regular umpires out on the field again.
  25. Note, due to last nights D-Cubs game being washed out the pitching rotation have all been moved back with Berg throwing tonight...
