  1. Please don't get me going about this move as "I know folks from the Cubs organization" read these threads...... ](*,)
  2. Lou and Gallagher both said something like Lou was trying to light a fire under Gally's ass. I have no problem with Lou going out there and "ripping Sean a new one on national tv". I had no trouble reading Lou's lips, but as they both said Lou was trying to light a fire under his ass..... Sean left to many pitches up and over the plate and good hitters are going to make you pay. I watched the game again last night and the pitch to Dye was exactly were Geo was set-up and Dye put a good swing on it. Same with the homerun to the 2B that pitch was outside probably little to high but he pulls it to left field. It was great to see Sean settle down and finish the way he did and as everybody has told him this experience it will only make him better. Also this was his first apperance in the "Crosstown classic" and I'm sure he was a little amped up in the beginning and was trying to hard to make the perfect pitch.
  3. The "I-Cubs" are playing can't pull anything up as for audio/video but only gameday.....currently tied 4-4 in top of 7th..
  4. I was just watching CNN live and they showed a live picture of Des Moines and not looking good for Principal Park. The water is sitting just outside the field and they are expecting the river to crest even more. It was tough looking at the pics of Cedar Rapids are and our thoughts and prayers are with everyone.........
  5. Look folks I'm not "thin skinned" when it comes to people expressing their opinions about Sean. I am Sean's biggest fan along with critic and I have no problem telling him what I think about any of his performances. All I wanted to do was reply about the comment about "lots of balls hit to the track". This gentleman expressed his views and I just came back and stated that with the wind blowing out on friday that Sean at least kept them in the park. This person apologized and its over and we can agree to disagree. As I have said many times before Sean has had lots worse stated about him and I will tell you that he will read this but he just uses all this negative talk for motivation. \:D/
  6. Look folks, all I am going to say on this topic is and Sean would agree is that he didn't have his best stuff on friday. What he did do was get ahead in the count and threw 1st pitch strikes. I thought it was a great game(biased) as he didn't have his best stuff and with the wind blowing out kept the ball in the park. I thought Sean had better stuff in the Diamondback game hence the more k's and with being put in a starters role will get more comfortable. "Can't we all just get along"!!!!!! :clapping:
  7. Not quite that bad, but yeah he had some BABIP mojo going for him today, especially on line drives. yes that bad. Lots of warning track flies as well. Amazing that folks still have to find crap to talk about. What was really good is that the "wind was blowing out" and they stayed in the park!!!!!! Sean has always had his "haters" as we have found out from articles from BA and other pubs but to be honest what really matters is what happens when given the chance.........
  8. Cool stuff. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-080516-chicago-cubs-pittsburgh-pirates,1,29976.story So cool. I hope we hear from you soon, Mr. Gallagher. I was lucky enough to be at the game and Sean looked great. Congratulations. "Boy where do I start" as just typing this post I have tears coming down my eyes...... Words just can't explain the emotions that I felt yesterday!!!! To watch your Son win his 1st MLB game yesterday was so special and something I will never forget. I attended yesterdays game with Seans agent and during the game turned to him and said "who would have thought that we would ever be here". It was just great that I could be in attendance to just watch Sean start a game in Wrigley. I was just so proud of the way he pitched it brought tears to my eyes. It was very emotional when Sean came out of the clubhouse as we embraced for several minutes and yes "gameball was in hand". I will hopefully post more later and want to thank everyone at "NSBB" for the kind words. I must apologize if I seem to be rambling but it was also a late night celebrating after yesterdays game......... :yahoo:
  9. Just saw this scroll across the ticker "being reported by Cubs and Hendry Edmonds will be signed pending a physical"...
  10. You have to figure that at least some of the wildness and the mounting problems in the fifth came from his youth. He's 22 and has barely ever started in the majors (is this his first?), you have to know the adrenaline is pumping and that accounts for at least some of the struggles. Not excusing the final numbers, but if this is as bad as he'll get, I'm excited for the future. Yes, this was his first big league start. Thanks Raisin. I was thinking it was, but wasn't sure at all. Hello everybody, just wanted to add that I thought Sean did a good job today considering the circumstances of getting the nod an hour before game time. I was getting ready to head out to take care of a few errands until I got a call from Sean's agent telling me the good news. You could see in the first inning that he was pumped up and as I have told him since "little league" that walks kill you. I didn't know where that ball was going in the first inning as it started towards center and ended up in right center. I would have to say that with all things considered and some folks are going to say that this wasn't a good outing but I have to disagree. Sean has been used primarily out of the pen and thats hard on somebody who has been a starter his entire career. I heard Len mention that during the broadcast that in the 15 innings he has come out of the pen he has struck out seven. In todays game alone he struck out six in four innings and in the 5th you could tell he was running out of gas as he was leaving pitches up and missing spots. I had a brief chat with Sean after the game as he was "big leagueing" me with all the phone calls he was getting. The first thing he said to me was that it was great that the Cubs won!!! He also said that he was nervous the entire first inning and didn't settle down until the second. Sean said that he made mistakes with some pitches and that he was overall pleased with his outing. If true that Sean will get another shot I see him being more comfortable as he will throw a bullpen before his next start and hopefully Dad will be there to watch......... :yahoo:
  11. I heard the same thing that tonight would be Hill........
  12. Hello Again, I am pretty sure that during the broadcast that he is due back Weds. I was also surprised to hear about Holliman as I thought he was pitching okay. It will be interesting to see if after yesterdays pitching performance if any other moves are made. I read on AZ Phil's blog he looked really good and more advanced than expected in his first few games. That will be good for Iowa, hopefully EPatt is back soon too. You're still listening to Iowa broadcasts when Sean is in the bigs? I actually listen to as many of the minors broadcasts, just visited Scotty Eyre while he was with the D Cubs in Jupiter. Over the years have met lots of players who are good friends of Seans and like to see how they are doing.......
  13. First let me start off by thanking everyone for the kind words that have been expressed. All I can say is what a difference a year makes!! All Sean's hard work and dedication looked so much better and especially the "dropping of the weight". It was almost as if you were looking at a different person and his motion looked so much easier. I spoke with Sean after the game and told him that folks over at "NSBB" were wishing him the best. He's looking forward to doing whatever the team asks of him at this point. I must say that his velocity was great but especially the movement he had on his 2 seamer. It was a proud night at the gallagher household but Sean knows he still has work to do and hopefully he can continue to impress.

  15. I must apologize to everybody but we got the call from Sean about 1:30 this morning. Sean told me I couldn't report it as you all know what happened last time!!!! [-X I know Sean is looking forward to today as I spoke with him early this morning but I haven't heard anything about the Cubs plans for him. I know that he will do whatever it takes to help this team and must say again that his parents are so proud of him......... \:D/
  16. Actually Mateo has already been removed from the 40 man.
  17. This moves makes no sense as the Cubs clearly had better options than Fox. Ascanio had been pitching well to name one and Fox's last outing in AA didn't go well.
  18. "Pie has no trade value at this point", they should've traded him at the beginning of the season when teams were lining up.
  19. Being reported at ITI that Cubs RHP Juan Mateo has refused a Minor lg assigment to Daytona. If somebody could provide the link it would be appreciated. #-o
  20. I would have to say that the "Gallagher" to the bullpen issue is dead. I think the Cubs learned their lesson last year that Sean isn't a pitcher for the bullpen. Thats not to say it couldn't happen as Sean would do whatever he was asked to help the club. I just don't see the bullpen as a good fit. I would have to say that Ascanio would be the first RH to be called up.
  21. FYI, I was in New Orleans for Seans start and he was really pitching there and making hitters look foolish. His CB was really good that night but his SL was hanging a little and that what got him into trouble in the 7th. His velocity has been great as he has been between 90/96 with his FB and he has been hitting his spots. I talked with him as the team was leaving New Orleans and he figured out what it was he was doing wrong with his SL. Todays game as I watched it everything was working as he had the hitters off-balance. His CB/SL today today were nasty and and hopefully this continues. As for the game He really mixes his pitches well and can't say anymore than that but he really manages his game well at this point.
  22. His changeup was not even passable last season and his slider was very inconsistent (even though it had plus potential last season and when it was on, it was really filthy). I don't see the point in putting a guy in relief this early in his career, especially when he's as raw as Ceda is. I'm glad he's in the rotation this year and if he can stick in the rotation as he moves up, that's even better. Not going to say much but that the FSL is a free swinging league and if ball near the plate they hack. AA will be the real test as hitters more patient and make pitchers throw all their pitches for strikes. I watched him pitch in ST and yes he can throw hard but had nothing else for a secondary pitch.
  23. Lets see Sean was born in Boston and his Family is from Boston, would I like to see this trade made??? I have no comment......... :yahoo:
  24. "So-So outing!!!! are you friggin kidding me or did you just look at the box score!!!! I was at the game and Sean was pretty much untouchable for the first six innings. Seventh inning was were he got hurt as he left pitches up but compared to his previous start this was a good outing. I was actually sitting behind a few scouts who were behind home plate and they were impressed. One of the scouts called his curveball "unfair" as he was buckling hitters knees and his velocity was between 90/96 FB. Also Inside the Ivy has a write-up on his start and actually a few Cubs front office folks were there and were very pleased with his performance.
  25. Just to give everybody a heads up but tonights "Iowa Cubs" game has been cancelled. It was only a matter of time until all this airline stuff caught up with their travel schedule. They had a 5am wake-up today to catch their flights and half the team from what I have heard is still in Detroit. :banghead:
