  1. Hey, Yankee's suck this year so why don't we trade them some young pitching talent and take Arod off their hands. (yes, somewhat sarcastic OK?)
  2. Nobody in this thread said they are terrible because they lost a game. Terrible against left handed pitching, yes, but not as a whole. I think the somewhat hidden point was even the best teams in baseball WILL get shutout. The timing of asking how they are against left handers after one loss after many wins just annoys me (him). Ask it if they do this four or five more times in the next 2 weeks.
  3. What's the hangup with three lefties? If they're the most effective starter options, what difference does it make? It's just another baseball myth. I don't think anyone actually quoted a myth. Which myth are you talking about?
  4. I think as long as we're winning why change anything? Baseball people are really superstitious, even GM's I'm sure. Soto will be up if we start losing.
  5. Hmmm, something must be up with your provider. My onscreen guide says "MLB Baseball" at 11am on WGN. Yes, comcast sucks. not really.
  6. I'd wait until they are atleast 5 games over. That way they'd have to have atleast a 6 game losing streak to be under .500 again. .
  7. A good way to find out what's going on is to go by cubs.com and look at the FREE video highlights of each game. It will give you an idea of what big plays have gone on (as well as who's playing for the Cubs right now). .
  8. It's on 11:05 even though WGN says "who wants to be a millionaire", "WGN news at noon", and "Maury". . .?
  9. Where do we stand in the fecal league? It would be interesting to see when we actually have a decent winning record.
  10. you forgot the groin rub at the end.
  11. that's funny, soundsl like an NBA quote or maybe a gang member wannabe in 7th grade saying. I think "Z" has a big enough ego and pay check that he is not feeling disrespected. So you know the man personally?
  12. Watching the Cubs is the biggest up and down roller coaster you've ever been on. After the the climb up we've reached the top of this current bunnyhill and we will now plumet down the next 6 or 7 games until we climb back up again.
  13. I didn't mean this to be a fat joke thread. You meanies!!
  14. Petrick has been DAMN good. I have no idea why one would even THINK of sending him down. I mean isn't it a point to actually make your team better? IE: Keeping the best and ridding your self of the worst?
  15. I wouldn't do it. I mean you want both Marmol AND Gagne in the bullpen. That would be killer! And I doubt Hendry would do that either. To whoever posted the bullpen. Wouldn't this be better? Marmol Weurtz Gagne Petrick Ohman Howry Dempster
  16. On tribune live. Anyone know?
  17. See the thing about Chip and that call was that I felt his excitement all the way through the end. . . . . AND THE CUBS COME BACK TO WIIIN IT!! After Len's CuuuuuuuuuuuuuuBS win!! Which was great by the Way. The excitement in his voice seemed to taper off. Ended with a quite cheesy "Oh baby!". And I don't like he just says the player's name. "Ramirez. . . . two run shot!!". I love Len's calls ok. But his best doesn't come close to Chip's best.
  18. Much better than Barrett. Fox's defense could be characterized as sub-Barrett. Ah that's right. Fox was the bad defensive guy I was thinking about. Thanks V.
  19. Fontenot will cool down. But I'm happy at SS right now. Either call up Soto or trade for a real good RF bat. Those are the 2 likely things that I think will happen. Think. . Even if we were able to trade Izturis. We have Ronny (who is very hot in AAA) and Fontenot (who is very hot at MLB) for the SS position. We have Bowen and Hill. As well as Soto at AAA. RF seems like the most likely position to upgrade, if JH wants to make a splash. But with the way Floyd is playing, I think catcher or SS would provide the biggest OF upgrade. But C is an important DEF position. In other words, I'm confused as always.
  20. How is soto's defense to those of us who keep up with minors? Barret like, worse or better?
  21. Len IS awesome. Len is awesome. But I didn't totally dig this call. He had alot of energy, AT FIRST. But then his kermit the frog voice wasn't able to support his emotion and he lost some of the, depth of his voice. And the "oh baby" just didn't hav the "oomph" that I would expect out of a follow up phrase. 8.5 out of 10. I'm still remembering the Walker superman slide and Chip's call. That imo, was the best TV cubs win call I can remember. Say what you want about chip, but he called a GREAT homer, and great win.
  22. I've watched the 9th inning 4 times already today. Only 4? Pshaw. I've got ya beat by about 10.
  23. No I think maybe it's special because it was just a great game? Or someone fell asleep at the switch. . They do not usually show you that trust me I've tried when I was a non paying member.
  24. pay for a ticket and leave. Stupidest thing you could do IMO. . damn if I'm paying I want 9 innings of baseball.
