  1. Does Jason Grimsley look stacked to you? I didn't think so. Grimsley has a neanderthal head So you're saying that bobbleheads are on steroids too? NOW your getting it!!
  2. The funny thing is I'd say that too. Hey we're in the playoffs!! Atleast it's a step in the right direction to get BACK TO, the playoffs. .
  3. Maybe $25 if they REALLY want him. $18 if they maybe want him. .
  4. Well it's cool we have some alternatives to matsazuka that are a bit less expensive. And this guy sounds like he could be a good solid #4 or 3 for us.
  5. Oh common. :D you know he means a really good hitter this time. It's on again. It was more like "Look, we realize that along with Lee, and hopefully ramirez, that we ah need another steller hitter. . can't you just be happy with me? :D it's true that we haven't had 3 great bats in the line-up since 2004 right? It will be so nice to have that again. .
  6. What the hell is wrong with you? I would have to guess that, Mercker is one of the biggest jokes in baseball. What?! Well you don't see that as a problem? I do.
  7. Keep telling yourself that. 8 David Ecksteins would never stand up to 8 Eddie Gaedels.
  8. Tonite they had an interview with JH on CTL. One thing that he said stands out. "Along with Lee and, hopefully Ramirez, we know we have to go out and get another stellar bat". . It will be on again at 1 a.m. for us night owls. It was during the first portion of the show. I know we all expect to probably atleast get 1 impact bat with the new sense of urgancy and upped payroll. . . But it was nice to finally hear it out of Hendry's mouth, that we need 3 stellar bats in the line-up. Something we haven't had, since 2004. .
  9. When are we allowed to want to move on from depending on him? After 3 dissapointing seasons? 4? who said anything about whether or not we could depend on him? i wouldn't really depend on him, but it's not because i think he's a wuss/pansy/less than a man. Well I viewed this more of a let's move on thread than Prior is a wuss thread. :P
  10. Yeah well no actually I do not agree. And also Mark Grace has gone on countless shows TV and radio dissing the cubs and talking smack and saying how they suck. Stone has always been a cubs fan and still talks like he wants them to win. . So let's end this arguement here. Stone is Chuck Norris like. .

  12. When are we allowed to want to move on from depending on him? After 3 dissapointing seasons? 4? Torch every player with a bad season!! WUSSIES Was that called for? Just about as called for as it is to call Prior a "wimp, or a headcase". To think that he seriously doesnt want to pitch, and likes to be hurt, is assanine. Did I call Prior a wimp?

  15. I'd also like to know this. Do they count the people that tune in for only a part of the game? For example, I know I usually couldn't make it past the 3rd inning this year. I think they're measured by having some households a device that tracks their TV viewing habits. This is then extrapolated to the entire region. I don't know how you could do that though. You just don't take 1 or 5% of the city, take the percentage of those who switch on the game, and then extrapolate from that, to 100%. It's just not going to be accurate. I always thought it worked like radio in that they could simply detect the signals coming in and when they switched off.
  16. I'm insure whether this is new or just an old thread from 2005 bumped up to the top. I just don't beleive it. And let's get rid of O'neal for heavens sake! I'm tired of his ####. "uuuuuh, duuuh I don't know maybe he won't be ready for spring training, . . uuuuuhhhhh". .
  17. Pin.ella. HA!! Piniella Now that's a "HA!" oooowwwwwww.. Piniella.
  18. Sign Soriano, and either sign or trade for a top pitcher, sign a middle class pitcher or sign miller. And these team easily competes in the NL central. I will be happy with that next year with the thought they will improve further next year. however it looks like the Cubs are going to go all out this off-season. I just don't understand the logic of not being able to win the NL central with an addition of an impact bat and an impact starter.
  19. Why? Just because we have the money to spend. Doesn't mean you should give up one of your best young players who you will be getting a bargain on for the next # of years for an upgrade. Look. Put Soriano in CF and take his 25-40 HR and get stellar pitching and maybe even add another impact bat elsewhere. Or even a very good above average bat elsewhere and you have a very good offense. Keep Murton. He can be part of a really good offense. .
  20. Well Joe Morgan says it's the Cubs so they belong with Tampa more than they do with Seattle or the Reds. Joe knows all. Where does he live again? ::[expletive] gun::. .
  21. when I tried to type it wrong (in my sig) it automatically came out as (here I'll try it now) Piniella. So Tim was on the job even before the guy was hired. Nice one Tim!
  22. He was just on ESPN radio too. And he was talking about knowing the fans want to win, and saying the management and higher ups were all on the same page about aggressively wanting to win now. And he liked that. And that he liked expectations. .
  23. HAhahahahahaaaaa. . I just noticed we did the same thing BBB! I swear I didn't even look. Ha haaaa. .
  24. While it might sound stupid at first. Soriano HAS lead-off most of this year, and I beleive he HAS said in the paper somewhere that he enjoys leading off and feels better at lead-off. Perhaps he will have slightly better #'s next year if he leads off instead of batting 5th? Anyway, Soriano >>>>>>>>>>>. . . . . . pierre. And I don't care if he leads off or not. He hits lots of homers, has great slugging, and I just want the better players. I am over my "lead-off" guy infactuation. .
