Between Ramirez and Soriano and a lot of the guys currently pitching seemingly leveling out there doesn't seem much of a need to overpay like that.

Wait, you want them to address the back of the rotation by getting an elite starter? Or you want them to address the back of the rotation AND get an elite starter? I wouldn't be opposed to either, but both scenarios could easily be overkill.
When you have a guy hitting like a god in Sosa it goes a long way. A couple other good hitters and then a bunch of OK guys. That team was a lot of fun.
