  1. So you seriously think because the Tigers dropped a couple of key bunt singles last night they are now going to attempt to repeatedly do the same today? It's not like they got those hits last night because of crippling breakdowns or flaws in the Cubs' defense; they were just laid down perfectly (which doesn't usually happen) and the Cubs (rightly) weren't expecting it. If they try to make it a thing again today the, for one, aren't likely to lay down bunts the good repeatedly, and the Cubs are going to be expecting it. So, yeah, it's pretty "crazy." Especially when they can also crush the ball and the wind is going to be howling out, so I seriously doubt they're going to be repeatedly trying the same moves they did in the 8th of a tie ballgame being played after midnight.
  2. You can see it right up there.
  3. Good God, it was humongous. I should have said I would have used it as a bed. Over 7 feet long, and it had a microphone/speaker system?!? Holy [expletive], I might just make it my coffee table. And the insane part was it was only $110 when it was released in 1985. Adjusting for inflation today that would, I think, only be about $250. That seems insane.
  4. Yep, it has nothing to do with 2 successful bunt hits and nearly a 3rd in the late innings last night. Fortunately, the wind is supposed to be howling out and I think our dongs will prevail. Boy, yeah, that tried and true tradition of easily maintaining what worked in one game; "we got a couple of bunt hits the game before, so let's just keep doing that!" Ranks right up there with, "hey, that guy should just keep hitting away from the shift" and "let's just hit some more home runs!" To be fair, this is why we've scored like 5 runs/game the past month. Well, to be even more fair, the Cubs are hitting dongs, not home runs.
  5. My only concern is losing 1.5 games to the Pirates and Giants over the last 3 days. I don't doubt the Cubs will play well but other than the sweep by the Cubs the Giants are handling their "impossibly tough schedule" quite well going 6-2 in the other games As fast as we got ahead in race we can get behind! http://38.media.tumblr.com/797e7b33db8898c4ed7a180c2be636aa/tumblr_inline_mtp45jxjm31rsufew.gif

  7. I love how certain Cubs fans are convinced that every Lester start is going to degenerate into nothing but bunts and stolen bases and hit and runs because he's just oh-so-vulnerable to anything that happens in the infield...and then it never does.
  8. Only beautiful people on this here message board. We just recognize one of our own.
  9. Drop: Trumno Add: CarGo That knee better hold together...
  10. I feel like Ski and ARCubsFan are furtively trying to tug each other while posting. Each time one says something negative the other starts yanking even harder and angrier.
  11. Thank goodness Schwarber is pounding because Krys is not looking like mr. can't miss right now. .300 .333 .500 .833 over the last week. .308 .400 .538 .938 over the last 2 weeks.

  13. Ah well. Start clobbering again later today.
  14. Apparently it's because it got stuck in McCann's mask.
  15. Where the hell is the balk? What a weird call.
  16. Wow. Didn't know you had it in you, Miguel.
  17. Wow, what a flaming [expletive] storm up in Boston. I mean, even moreso than usual.
  18. Fowler just seems so freakin' slow for a CFer.
