That called strike...why, God? Why? -
I want to believe that there was some next-level thinking behind it that we don't understand, but I think he just tilted and made a mistake. He did also trade Josh Donaldson with 4 years of arbitration left on his contract. He's made a few head-scratchers lately. Isn't he eligible next year? I think he was a Super 2 guy with 4 years of arbitration. He has three more years of control after this, though. Ah, gotcha. Thanks. Yeah, the Russell deal I get, but that one was odd.

am i even that high on soler? i just don't think he's going to suck long term. i don't think i've been effusive with soler praise at all this year. he does hit the ball obscenely hard on a consistent basis, though. he's top 15 in the league among guys with 150+ PA in average batted ball velocity. and most of the other guys on that list have been pretty good hitters. http://baseballsavant.com/apps/hit_leader.php?game_date=&abs=150&sort=3,1&type=batter Well, I was joking about stuff like this; we all know how hard he hits the ball, but so far it hasn't translated to much this season. Solers strike zone has been absurd and it's gotta [expletive] with his approach There's not really any evidence that Soler has been a victim of an unusual number of bad strike calls, and people have looked for it. It's just a meme that entered people's heads and confirmation bias took over, especially since it's more comforting than talking about what a dumpster fire he's been this season and how that's bad for his projection. Coming up fast behind it are your repeated efforts to make up the idea that nobody is expressing worry or frustration over Soler. It's not enough that a player has a crappy year; it has to be that only Kyle was smart enough to not be in denial over said crappy year. Don't mistake David's robotic hyperbole over Soler's muscly arms as speaking for everyone else.
