No. I don't think he makes it to 3rd, unless he guesses play at the plate off the bat. After some thought, you're probably right. But it would have been nice to at least press the issue. There's really no excuse for taking a few leisurely steps before running on that ball. Nobody is busting their ass on that; it should have been an easy out.
