  1. Being the Dodgers. Hasn't the talk been he wants to stick with them and opted basically to get a new contract with them?
  2. Well, the guy said "playoffs," not just this series. I don't really give a crap about dumb things like what a "random player" is.
  3. TRADE EVERYONE BUT CASTRO. http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/mueelquo5ozaoaiawssu.gif
  4. OK. Let's trade Rizzo so he can play 1B. http://i.giphy.com/zSgWRDLwC1mJG.gif
  5. I don't have the numbers in front of me, but what about Schwarber for someone like Stanton? Or does Stanton even rank that much better than Schwarber in the OF?

  7. Castro just lined a ball 110 mph right at a defender while you were typing this. I was staring down the LF line when he hit that and literally jumped out of my seat. That was a base-clearer. He looked great in the playoffs. I posted in last night, but as at work and literally fell backwards out of my chair starting to cheer when the ball left the bat. I was convinced for that split-second they were going to be right back in the game. That moment was easily the most spirit-crushing for me by far. Then the added cherry later of him just barely missing the home run to LF.
  8. Though still nightmarish in the field. What the [expletive] happened there.
  9. Yeah, you show that banned guy who's boss.
  10. Ski, seriously, fix that broken image in your signature or else I am going to sit on your head.
  11. Pink Hat is on his feet yet again.
  12. Someone distract Bartolo by finally bringing him the mighty Chewbacca.
  13. If Baez hits a home run here I will never drink a soda ever again.
  14. Of course. I just fell out of my stupid chair thinking he scorched that into the corner.
  15. I think one or two people here are going to drop dead if it takes the Cubs more than one try to actually win a WS they reach.
  16. And almost everyone in our lineup is <25, and cost-controlled for at least four more seasons. Even the magical Cardinals never put together an offense like this. Hate to throw truth on the pity party, but 2015 is an enormous success by any measure. Oh yeah, everyone knows that. In a day after we've all stepped back this will be easier to say. Remember kids, after every trip to the playoffs we (older fans) were convinced that we had just had a good season and the future was bright. Sure, but just assuming that everything is going to go wrong going forward seems pretty pointless.
  17. And almost everyone in our lineup is <25, and cost-controlled for at least four more seasons. Even the magical Cardinals never put together an offense like this. Hate to throw truth on the pity party, but 2015 is an enormous success by any measure. Definitely, though inevitably Kyle is going to run in here and point out how bright the future looked after 2003, too. Personally, I was expecting/hoping for them to finish in the 85-87 win range. That would have been an enormous success to me with all of the new players and after how craptacular the previous several seasons had been. Finishing with 97 wins? Beating the Pirates in the WC? Beating the Cardinals the first time either team had played each other in the playoffs? And after losing game 1? [expletive], what a crazy season.
  18. No chance I'm turning this game off either, as much as it blows. I'm stuck at work with it on 2 TV's and 2 giant screens on the wall. I couldn't not watch if even if I wanted to.
  19. Beating the Cards was pretty cool Just have to believe that these things are crap shoots and we just need to make the playoffs every damn year to breakthrough Yeah that was cool, but I don't get the logic of being satisfied showing our asses in the LCS just because they had a nice regular season. Nobody's going to feel satisfied with the memory of beating Cincinatti in June. I dunno, it just happens. Even if Lester and Arrieta had really shut the Mets down, you've still got a very young team that strikes out a lot and was basically being carried by the dong. They had stretches where they went very, very cold this season, and unfortunately another one popped up at a critical time against a team with a great starting rotation. Chalk it up to a learning experience, I guess. At least they're in a good position to succeed again next year (yeah, yeah, I know; and the Nationals were supposed to win the WS this year...)
  20. Well, the 2008 team didn't even get started in the playoffs. This one managed to beat the Pirates and Cardinals before falling apart. It was pretty cool!
  21. find a way to break a curse, do whatever you have to. this team is capable of winning a world series. hey, remember in 2003 when we hadn't lost 3 in a row all year until the nlcs, just when we were about to make it to the series? anybody remember 1984? they can't get there, it cannot be explained. I think that they've only been to the NLCS 3 times in the 46 years its existed kinda explains it pretty well. 4 times. 0-5 in clinching games and 0-4 in the series themselves. doesn't count 69, either. cubs haven't been to a series since 45, the year of the curse. They've only played in 3 NLCS series.
