    It's weird for someone to be raving about a guy's personality when the image that leaps so readily to mind is him just sitting in the dugout seemingly completely unresponsive to the game in front of him.

    VDL was basically the epitome of that kind of coach, and yet he's the one that got choked out. Your theory seems to devour itself. The FO and Thibs obviously butted heads, but it's not like Thibs was always in the right. He was often stupidly stubborn with how he wanted to run the team and how to use his players.

    They looked fine before tonight. Calm the [expletive] down. And they gave up 121 in 2013-2014. 120, 128 and 121 in 2012-2013. Who cares? In the 4 games before this the most points they had given up was 100. Sad sack fans are the worst.

    It's not like theyre bad, its just everything goes against them all the time. Nothing good happens at any mean8ngful time for any team outside the hawks. Goooood. The Bears gain nothing by being middle of the pack this year. They're bad, but they're bad in a good way in that they're improving their draft slot without being catastrophically bad where the draft pick would be little more than a Band-Aid at best.

    I think Schwarber is the most likely to be dealt. Its not certain, but its a good bet his value is at its peak after all those sexy postseason homers. He'll always be a defensive liability no matter where he plays, and an AL team in need of a DH would value him very highly. Either way you're right, that is going to make Coghlan very valuable in 2016. I doubt that the FO will be actively shopping Schwarber, but they ought to be listening to any offers from AL teams. If Beane offers Gray in a deal involving Schwarber, they ought to jump on it. are you out of your...*checks screen name* ... oh ok
