i mean mets fans haven't had it much better in the 20 years i've been watching baseball, granted, they did have that WS loss and that series that ended on the beltran called 3rd strike. Yeah I don't care. Their suffering pales in comparison to ours (as you know of course). At least they can find tv and radio evidence of their latest World Series victory and can see every one of their 4 (I think) World Series appearances in color Ugh, don't do this. Ultimately you reach a point where 30 years might as well be 100.

The Cubs looked like complete lifeless garbage after getting trounced by the Cardinals in game one, and I swear there's, like, at least ten times more panic after losing an unlucky first game against the stupid Mets in a 7 game series with Arrieta going the next day.

It's impossible to put any positive thoughts into anything after this day of sports losing. Perhaps I should stop posting and go to bed. Only the Cubs' loss means anything. Letting a stupid college game wreck you is like being mad that someone sunk your basttleship.

Yeah, I'm not really worried at all. Harvey was outstanding, Lester was merely good, and the distribution of BABIP luck (Mets got 2 runs due to bloop hits while we hit probably 5 or 6 lasers right at people) will not continue. Tip your cap and win Game 2. Pretty much. I'm stuck at work watching the game with a couple Mets fans and both of them were half-joking about how that final play kinda summed up the whole game. When Schwarber donged they both got REAL quiet.

This is just how the Cubs roll; they're lovable, but secretly cruel. Give teams and their fans hope and then absolutely smash that hope under their heels.
